Wolf is a prominent character in Blood Lad, serving as both a close friend and rival to Staz Charlie Blood, whom he teasingly refers to as “Cherry-Blood.” Abandoned by his parents for being a half-breed rather than a pure werewolf, Wolf was later raised after his family was killed by the Blood siblings. He identifies himself as a cross between a werewolf and an unknown demon, often referring to himself as a “mongrel.”
Appearance

Wolf’s Werewolf Appearance
Wolf possesses two distinct forms: a human-like form and a partial werewolf transformation. In his human form, he has pale skin, short white hair that spikes upward, and golden eyes. He maintains a muscular build and is typically seen wearing a blue-and-white striped shirt, dark cargo shorts, and a forearm guard.
When partially transformed, Wolf develops claws, a tail, and a pronounced snout. This “incomplete” transformation reflects his mixed heritage, as he is not a pure werewolf. Despite its partial nature, the transformation greatly enhances his physical power and combat ability.
Personality
Wolf is portrayed as strong-willed and ambitious, with a tendency toward impatience and a short temper. He takes pride in his physical strength and frequently challenges Staz Charlie Blood, acknowledging Staz’s superior power yet remaining determined to surpass him. His primary motivation is to conquer the territories of the Lower Demon World, both to assert his dominance and to earn recognition from his father, the King of Acropolis.
Beneath his tough and combative exterior, Wolf displays a compassionate side, often showing concern for those close to him. He is also easily flustered in the presence of women, adding a layer of vulnerability to his otherwise confident attitude.
Plot
Wolf first encounters Staz when the latter, having run away from home, crashes into his hideout during their youth. This meeting begins their long-standing rivalry and friendship. Notably, Wolf is the only character in the series to utter the title “Blood Lad.”
As a half-blood werewolf, Wolf was abandoned at a young age for not being a purebred, and his parents were later killed by the Blood siblings. Struggling with his identity, he eventually made his way to the Western Demon District, where he gradually built up his strength and formed a gang to support him. Over time, he expanded his influence and rose to become the boss of the Western District.
Wolf’s larger ambition is to conquer all of the Lower Demon World, a goal driven by his desire to prove his strength and earn recognition from his estranged father, the King of Acropolis. After receiving a letter from his father, he travels to the Human World in search of his mother, hoping she can help him uncover the origins of the unknown powers that lie within him.
Powers and Abilities
Wolf’s abilities primarily enhance his physical body, in contrast to Staz’s outwardly focused magic. As a half-blood werewolf, his transformation is limited to approximately three minutes, but during that time his strength, speed, and durability increase dramatically.
He often channels his energy into his iron club, which he refers to as a Kanebo, using it as a signature weapon in battle. In addition, Wolf later unlocks a second form of magic inherited from his mother, known as Charisma, which grants him further versatility in combat.
Enhanced Strength
In his werewolf form, Wolf’s physical power increases substantially, allowing him to overpower even strong demons.
Enhanced Speed and Agility
His transformation also heightens his speed and reflexes, enabling him to outmaneuver opponents with ease.
Shockwave Claws
By charging energy into his claws, Wolf can release powerful shockwaves capable of damaging enemies at range.
Charisma
This unique ability allows Wolf to generate a vacuum-like pull, drawing in opponents and objects within close range. He can manipulate enemy movements, halting them mid-action, or use the ability to propel himself toward a target, amplifying his natural speed.
Combat Training
After training with White Step alongside Staz, Wolf’s reflexes and predictive awareness improved significantly, allowing him to anticipate and evade attacks that once overwhelmed him.
Equipment
Kanebo
Wolf’s signature weapon is an iron rod he refers to as Kanebo. The name is actually a mispronunciation of Kanabō (金棒), meaning “iron club,” though the word “Kanebo” is also the name of a well-known Japanese cosmetics brand. Wolf channels his magic into the weapon, sealing his energy within it to keep his body from being overstrained. By doing so, the rod becomes a magical extension of himself, amplifying both his offensive power and control during combat.
Relationships
Staz Charlie Blood
Wolf shares a long-standing rivalry and friendship with Staz, whom he nicknames “Cherry-Blood.” Although he openly acknowledges Staz’s superior strength, he continuously challenges him to prove his own worth. Their relationship is a blend of competition and camaraderie, with Wolf often standing by Staz despite their frequent clashes.
Yanagi Fuyumi
While not romantically involved, Wolf shows a protective side toward Fuyumi and supports Staz’s determination to restore her life. Her presence often highlights Wolf’s more caring nature beneath his rough exterior.
Braz D. Blood
Wolf harbors resentment toward Braz, holding him partially responsible for his parents’ deaths. This animosity adds tension between Wolf and the Blood family.
