Will Serfort has purple-blue eyes and messy black hair, with a distinct long ahoge protruding from the top of his head. His usual attire consists of his Regarden Magical Academy uniform, which includes a white shirt, black pants, a bolo tie, and a student robe, along with his glasses.

For dungeon expeditions, Will wears a specially crafted outfit made by Rosti, which consists of a striped shirt, black pants, two belts, black gloves, and a shorter robe compared to his usual one. One of his most significant accessories is the pair of goggles gifted to him by his childhood friend, Elfaria Albis Serfort. During combat, he pulls the goggles down over his eyes, a gesture that signifies his readiness for battle.

Will Serfort is a hardworking, honest, and diligent individual, widely regarded for his unwavering determination. His kind-hearted nature is recognized by those around him, including his friend Colette, who openly acknowledges his genuine kindness. Despite facing numerous challenges due to his inability to use magic, he remains resolute in his goal of fulfilling his childhood promise to Elfaria Albis Serfort to become a Magia Vander and witness the sunset from atop the Mercedes Caulis.

Though frequently ridiculed for being unable to wield magic, Will rarely retaliates against those who mock him. However, in moments of internal struggle, he has questioned whether certain people deserve his help such as Sion, one of his former bullies. Ultimately, he chooses to save Sion despite their history, believing that proving himself worthy of Elfaria matters more than holding onto grudges. That said, during a heated confrontation with Sion, Will admits that he harbored resentment and had imagined getting revenge many times over, though he never acted on those thoughts.

Will is also known for his sincere and unintentional flattery, often complimenting others without ulterior motives. This has occasionally led to embarrassing moments, such as when he casually described Colette as cute, catching her off guard. His lack of magical ability has given him a profound understanding of struggle and perseverance, allowing him to support and inspire others. This was notably demonstrated when he helped Wignall overcome his fear and feelings of inferiority, using his own experiences to uplift his allies and push them toward self-improvement.

Will and Elfaria were abandoned outside the Serfort Orphanage as infants and were raised together alongside other adopted siblings under the care of Ashley Serfort, the head of the orphanage. Ashley gave all the children the surname “Serfort”, creating a familial bond among them.

At the age of five, Will and Elfaria made an important promise to one another to climb to the top of the Mercedes Caulis and witness the sunset that awaited at the highest point of the sky. This promise became the driving force behind Will’s determination. When they turned ten, both received recommendation letters to attend Regarden Magical Academy. Leaving the orphanage behind, they set out on their journey to fulfill their childhood dream.

Throughout his time at Regarden Magical Academy, Will faced relentless bullying from both students and professors due to his inability to use magic. Among his most persistent tormentors were Sion Ulster and Professor Edward Serfence, who continuously ridiculed him for his lack of magical aptitude.

Despite these hardships, Will managed to form valuable friendships with individuals who supported him. He befriended fellow student Colette Loire, his roommate Rosti Naumann, and even bonded with his carbuncle familiar, Kiki. Additionally, he earned the trust of the headmistress, Caldron Anouve, and found a mentor in Workner Norgram, who guided him through his struggles.

Although Will failed to earn a single credit in spellwork, leaving his academic standing uncertain, he displayed remarkable resilience. Through sheer determination and effort, he managed to gather enough credits to reach his sixth year, keeping his dream alive despite the odds stacked against him.

Wis
Will possesses a unique ability known as Wis, which allows him to absorb spells and store them within his sword, effectively transforming it into a magic sword. However, he can only maintain this enchanted state for a maximum of 50 minutes. It is later revealed that his body naturally hoards and stores magical energy but is unable to release it through traditional means, which prevents him from using conventional spellcasting like other mages.

Ignis Wis
When Sion cast the spell “Ignis Rooks” and launched a barrage of fire attacks at him, Will successfully absorbed the flames and infused them into his sword, creating a fire-imbued blade. Using this technique, he effortlessly sliced an Evil Grand Duke monster in half. During this state, Will’s eyes turn red, signifying his enhanced abilities.

Prime Pathos
After training with Ceridwen, Will gains the ability to load spells from emotions, thoughts, memories, and feelings. Unlike Wis, which absorbs external magic, Prime Pathos allows him to channel magic from within himself, though it is more difficult to maintain and consumes a significantly larger amount of energy.

Limit Off
“Limit Off” is a temporary awakened state that drastically enhances all of Will’s abilities. In this form, his hair and body turn completely white, and his physical strength, speed, and reflexes increase exponentially. While in this state, he was able to annihilate an entire army of monsters during the Terminalia Festival in an instant and defeat the Devende, a monster infamous for killing Magia Vander.

High Physical Abilities
Due to his inability to use magic, Will instead dedicated himself to training his body, developing extraordinary strength, endurance, and reflexes. According to his mentor, Workner Norgram, Will possesses:

Dungeon Knowledge
Will has extensive knowledge of dungeons, often knowing things that even Wignall, a seasoned explorer, has never encountered. Since he cannot use magic to aid him, he has developed exceptional survival skills, making him highly adaptable in dangerous dungeon environments.

Familiar: Kiki
Will owns a carbuncle familiar named Kiki (秘晶の守護獣キキ), which was gifted to him by Workner Norgram. Kiki possesses a jewel on its forehead, which is linked to an orb owned by Workner, allowing him to track Will’s location while he is inside dungeons. Kiki follows Will during all of his dungeon expeditions and serves as his guardian. It can act independently, such as running off to seek help when Will is in danger. Additionally, Kiki is capable of casting powerful defensive magic, strong enough to block an attack from a Balkar on the 11th floor of a dungeon.
