Tsukasa Mizugaki (水垣ツカサ, Mizugaki Tsukasa) is the main protagonist of the anime series Plastic Memories. He joins SAI Corp.’s Terminal Service No. 1 as a new employee after failing his college entrance exams, having missed them due to an emergency appendectomy. With the help of his father, who used his connections, Tsukasa secures a position at the company. Initially, he is partnered with Isla as her Spotter, but is later reassigned to work alongside Constance by order of Kazuki Kuwanomi.
Appearance

Appearance in Anime
Tsukasa Mizugaki is a slender young man with the build of a teenager, though his physique beneath casual clothing suggests a fit but underdeveloped frame. He has medium-length brown hair that falls to his ears and forehead, with bangs that reach his eyebrows. His eyes are teal in color, and his facial features include a slim, sharp jawline that tapers into a subtle “V” shape.
Tsukasa is most often seen wearing the standard uniform of Terminal Service No. 1, a white jacket with black collars and patches, worn over a collared shirt paired with a sky-blue or grey necktie in a half-Windsor knot. This is complemented by dark blue trousers and black shoes with light blue accents.
In casual settings, Tsukasa typically wears a simple white t-shirt with red collar and hems or a long-sleeved yellow shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. These outfits are paired with emerald green trousers and red shoes. Notably, in Episode 3 of the anime, for comedic effect, he appears in a black-and-white Chinese-style maid costume complete with black tights, a white half-apron, and an eyepatch over his right eye.
Personality
Tsukasa Mizugaki is cheerful, sociable, and naturally likable, quickly forming friendly relationships with his colleagues at Terminal Service No. 1. His approachable and warm demeanor allows him to connect easily with others, including Isla, who gradually opens up to him over the course of the series. Tsukasa demonstrates deep empathy toward clients, often becoming emotionally affected by the challenges of retrieving Giftia. His compassion is highlighted in moments where he goes out of his way to offer comfort or seek forgiveness, such as personally visiting a client to apologize after a difficult retrieval.
History
Little is known about Tsukasa Mizugaki’s life before joining SAI Corp., aside from the fact that he secured his position at Terminal Service No. 1 through his father’s connections after missing his college entrance exams due to an emergency appendectomy. From the start of his employment, Tsukasa was partnered with Isla, with whom he quickly formed a close bond. Over time, his feelings for her deepened into romantic affection.
Tsukasa eventually learns from Kazuki Kuwanomi that Isla has only about one month left in her lifespan. Despite this painful revelation, he chooses to remain by Isla’s side, determined to support her until the end. During an outing to the amusement park with Eru, Tsukasa confesses his love for Isla. Though she initially turns him down, unsure of how to respond, she later confesses her own feelings after encouragement from Kazuki.
On Isla’s final day, Tsukasa spends meaningful moments with her, culminating in their last ride together on a Ferris wheel. There, Tsukasa tearfully deactivates Isla, moved by the peaceful expression on her face. Upon exiting, Kazuki reassures him that he did well and that Isla seemed at peace, which causes Tsukasa to break down further. Following Isla’s deactivation, his partnership with her officially ends, and Tsukasa is later assigned a new Giftia partner, whose identity is not revealed in the series.
Relationships
Isla
From the moment Tsukasa first saw Isla, he felt an immediate attraction, admitting to himself that he had fallen in love with her before even learning her name. As their partnership developed, so did his feelings, growing steadily stronger over time. Tsukasa eventually confessed his love to Isla during an emotional moment at a carnival in Eru Miru’s hometown. Initially, Isla responded with hesitation, saying “I can’t,” as she needed time to process her feelings. Before they could make further progress, Kazuki dissolved their partnership part of a plan to help Isla confront her emotions. Ultimately, Isla confessed her love for Tsukasa in front of the Terminal Service staff.
Michiru Kinushima
At first, Michiru regarded Tsukasa with skepticism, often expressing frustration at having to work with someone she saw as an inexperienced amateur. She also teasingly labeled him a “pervert” due to his awkward behavior around Isla. Despite this rocky start, Michiru began to develop feelings for Tsukasa, occasionally showing signs of jealousy when Isla was mentioned in connection with him.
Eru Miru
Tsukasa shares a friendly relationship with Eru, although he is sometimes unsettled by her eccentric and occasionally perverted antics. He listens to her and takes her seriously, such as when she asks him to join her and Andie at the carnival in her hometown, where he ultimately brings Isla along as well.
Kazuki Kuwanomi
Tsukasa tends to feel intimidated by Kazuki’s no-nonsense attitude and blunt personality. He is generally quick to follow her orders, both out of respect for her authority as field operations director and out of caution, given her forceful attitude. Despite this, Tsukasa and Kazuki work well together, and he ultimately trusts her guidance.
