Tsubame is a teenage girl with short, spiky green hair and indigo-blue eyes. She wears round-framed glasses similar to Asuka Tanaka’s, but without the red frame. In the light novel, she is described with short, spiky black hair, black eyes, and rimless glasses.

Tsubame is reserved and somewhat socially awkward, often unsure how to interact with others at first. She tends to worry about her younger sister, Suzume Kamaya, and her possible misbehavior.

Tsubame is friends with most of Team Monaka and the percussion section, particularly admired by Junna Inoue for her marimba skills. She is acquainted with Kumiko Oumae, growing closer through ensemble practice. She has a caring but sometimes strained relationship with her sister Suzume, who is more demonstrative in affection. When Mayu Kuroe joins in Kumiko’s third year, Tsubame quickly befriends her, offering guidance on music and appreciating Mayu’s honesty and personality when she plays.
