Appearance

Theo has golden hair and green eyes, typical of a Jade. He is slender and, compared to the other boys, relatively short, standing at 165 cm tall. Like the other members of the Spearhead Squadron, he wears desert camouflage combat fatigues scavenged from the Republic’s surplus stocks. Later, he switches to the Federacy’s steel-colored panzer jacket uniform.

After the events of the Mirage Spire Operation, Theo loses his left hand. To cover the missing limb, he uses a hook given to him by Ishmael.

A collection of Durkheim's courses on the origins of socialism (1896), edited and published by his nephew, Marcel Mauss, in 1928

Personality

Theo is known for his guileless nature and brutal honesty, often speaking his mind without restraint. His sarcasm and blunt humor make him direct and unapologetic in his words, which can sometimes come across as harsh. This is particularly evident during his tirade against Lena following Kaie’s death, where his emotions and unfiltered thoughts take center stage.

As a pastime, Theo keeps a sketchbook, often drawing in it during quieter moments.

Background

Theo was born on April 20th, RY 351 / SY 2132, in the Republic of San Magnolia, near the southern border. His ancestors had migrated from the southern nation of Elektra two hundred years ago. Like many other Colorata, Theo and his family were sent to the internment camps in the Eighty-Sixth Sector and forced to fight the Legion.

Theo harbors a grudge against most of the Alba, though he has come to accept that some of them are honorable, a lesson learned through a past experience in his first squadron. His first squadron was led by an Alabaster former soldier from the decimated Republic Armed Forces. Theo and his comrades despised their leader, seeing him as a self-righteous figure who could retreat to the safer Eighty-Five Sectors when things went wrong. However, their leader never abandoned them. Instead, he died during a sortie, refusing to retreat in order to allow the other Processors to escape. The dying squadron leader’s final words had a profound impact on Theo, leading him to adopt the leader’s Personal Name and Mark of Laughing Fox.

In RY 366, Theo and Kurena joined Shin and Raiden’s squadron. A year later, in April RY 367, they were assigned to the First Ward, where they formed the Spearhead Squadron.

Abilities

Combat Skill
Theo’s unit, Laughing Fox, is the most orthodox within the Spearhead Squadron, remaining in its standard weapon configuration. However, Theo’s piloting style is anything but conventional. He is highly skilled at using his unit’s grappling wires, allowing him to leap and swing between trees or buildings with ease. Theo often attacks from vertical surfaces, such as the sides of buildings, targeting the thinner top armor of the Legion. This strategy exploits his excellent spatial perception and the weak points found on the top armor of heavily armored Legion units like the Löwe and Dinosauria. Additionally, certain Legion units, such as the Löwe, struggle to elevate their weapons, which reduces the danger Theo faces when attacking from above.

Artistic Skill
Theo is also the artist behind the Spearhead Squadron’s Personal Marks, including those of Shin, Lena, Raiden, Anju, Kurena, and his own. He also drew the portraits of the squadron’s Handlers at the base of the First Ward. Theo is skilled in various artistic techniques, including pencil sketching and painting, showcasing a creative side that contrasts with his combat skills.
