Teruhiko Yukimura (幸村 輝彦, Yukimura Teruhiko), also known as Keisei Yukimura (幸村 啓誠, Yukimura Keisei), is a student of Class 1-D at Advanced Nurturing High School in the Classroom of the Elite series. Despite possessing exceptional academic abilities, he was placed in Class D due to his poor athletic performance and lack of social skills.
In the anime, he is seated at the first desk in the fifth row, positioned next to the door. As one of Class D’s most academically proficient students, Keisei values logic and intelligence over physical ability, often displaying a pragmatic and rational approach to problem-solving. However, his difficulty in social interactions and inability to effectively connect with others contribute to his struggles within the school’s ranking system.
Personality

Appearance in Anime
Initially, Keisei Yukimura looked down on his Class 1-D peers, considering them inferior due to their lack of academic competence. However, over time, he came to recognize his own shortcomings, particularly in athletics and social interactions, and began making efforts to support his classmates. This shift in perspective led him to assist two students with their studies, acknowledging that teamwork and cooperation were essential for survival at Advanced Nurturing High School.
Keisei harbors deep resentment toward his first name, Teruhiko, as it was given to him by his mother, who later abandoned their family. Instead, he prefers to go by Keisei (啓誠), the name given to him by his father, as a way of distancing himself from his painful past.
When it comes to romance, Keisei is detached and uninterested, having never experienced romantic feelings himself. He dismisses the concept as nothing more than “vulgar worldly things,” indicating that he sees no value in relationships or emotional connections beyond intellectual pursuits.
Keisei also has a short temper, especially when his beliefs or sense of justice are challenged. His emotional outbursts are evident in moments such as when he boldly confronted Arisu Sakayanagi, declaring that Class D would surpass Class A. Another notable instance was when he discovered Kiyotaka Ayanokōji’s true abilities, becoming frustrated and angry upon realizing that Kiyotaka had been deliberately concealing his intelligence and strength. His reaction highlights his strong aversion to dishonesty and manipulation, as well as his struggles with feelings of inadequacy.
Appearance
Keisei Yukimura is a young man of average height with gray hair, red eyes, and round glasses, which give him a scholarly and intellectual look. His sharp features and serious expression emphasize his focus on academics, making him stand out as one of Class 1-D’s most knowledgeable students.
He is most commonly seen wearing the standard Advanced Nurturing High School uniform, maintaining a neat and orderly appearance that reflects his disciplined and studious nature.
Background
Keisei Yukimura dedicated most of his childhood to studying, leaving him with little time to form meaningful friendships. His relentless focus on academics set him apart from his peers, contributing to his social isolation from an early age.
At some point, his mother left their family for unknown reasons, an event that deeply affected him. He harbors strong resentment toward her abandonment, which extends to the first name she gave him, Teruhiko. To distance himself from the pain associated with her, he chooses to go by Keisei (啓誠), the name given to him by his father. He is firm in this preference and asks members of the Ayanokōji Group to refer to him as Keisei rather than his given name.
Abilities
Keisei Yukimura is a highly intelligent and academically gifted student who takes his studies seriously. His strong academic record was sufficient to earn him admission into Advanced Nurturing High School, and he consistently ranks among the top students in Class 1-D. However, his tendency to judge others solely based on their academic abilities is a notable weakness. This rigid mindset can lead him to underestimate individuals who excel in areas outside of academics, making it an area he is expected to improve upon throughout his time at the school.
Intellectual Abilities
Keisei has been recognized by Sae Chabashira, his homeroom teacher, and his interviewer for his outstanding performance in both written exams and interviews. His intelligence was further demonstrated during the midterm examinations, where he achieved the highest average score in Class 1-D, solidifying his reputation as one of the class’s most capable students.
Physical Abilities
Despite his academic excellence, Keisei struggles significantly in physical activities. His lack of athleticism has resulted in poor physical conditioning and limited capability in sports or endurance-based challenges. This weakness has contributed to his placement in Class D, as his overall skillset lacks the balance of both intellectual and physical aptitude that the school values.
