Temruogtaf (メルグブデ, Merugubude) was a Bloodline Dragon who held the 8th rank within the Winged Bloodline. As a formidable member of the Winged Brethren, he played a significant role in the faction’s military hierarchy, utilizing his immense strength and abilities to serve their cause.
Appearance

Temruogtaf charges at the chef
In his humanoid form, Temruogtaf appears as a bald, obese man, reflecting his gluttonous nature. He has a small mustache and typically wears a simple, sleeveless garment, though he often discards it while eating. Rather than consuming food with his mouth, he prefers to use his stomach-mouth, an unsettling feature that opens to reveal four long tentacles. These tentacle-like appendages serve as additional limbs, allowing him to grab and devour his prey with ease.
Regardless of his conflicting identities, Olto Zora holds deep respect and loyalty towards Taratectora, and the two form a deadly duo on the battlefield. Their partnership is one of mutual trust and lethal efficiency, making them a formidable force in combat. However, his internal struggle ultimately proves costly, as his momentary hesitation and confusion inadvertently result in Taratectora suffering fatal injuries an event that plunges Olto Zora into despair.
Personality
Temruogtaf is typically in a joyous and carefree state when not engaged in battle, often indulging in his insatiable gluttony. He harbors an obsession with consuming human flesh, which he considers the greatest delicacy, even when presented with the finest human cuisine. His prideful nature and contempt for humans are traits he shares with many Superior Dragons, believing in their inherent superiority.
Despite his arrogance, Temruogtaf is often perceived as a fool, lacking the sharp intellect and cunning of some of his peers. His gluttony and impulsive nature frequently overshadow his judgment, making him prone to underestimating opponents. While he revels in his own power, his overconfidence and lack of strategic awareness make him more reckless than other high-ranking members of the Winged Bloodline.
Biography
On the morning of February 28, Year 498, Temruogtaf arrived at the outskirts of Ronabera, tasked with completing the destruction of the city and its population under Ultimatia’s orders. Unbeknownst to him, Grymwelte had been killed just a few hours earlier. To aid in his attack, Temruogtaf utilized the Wriggling Tree Shade, a vast forest of tree dragons, which allowed him to exploit the shadows created by the dense foliage. This tactic enabled him to attack during the day, a phenomenon that left the survivors of Ronabera in disbelief, as dragons rarely launched assaults under direct sunlight. The Wriggling Tree Shade also targeted Charluke’s Mansion, where Ragna, Leonica, and Sykes Charluke were resting.
Ragna was awakened by Leonica’s call and, upon realizing the attack, unleashed a blast of Silver Aura, freezing all the nearby tree dragons. He then rushed toward the center of the forest, where Temruogtaf was stationed. Sensing Ragna’s approach, Temruogtaf warned him that any destruction of the forest would not be tolerated. However, Ragna responded by drop-kicking the dragon, saving a human maid that Temruogtaf was about to devour. Enraged by the damage to his face, Temruogtaf demanded that Ragna deactivate his Silver Aura, believing that without it, the hunter would be defenseless. The moment Ragna complied, Temruogtaf lunged at him, confident in his supposed victory. However, in an instant, Ragna grabbed the maid and instead tricked Temruogtaf into swallowing a Silver Aura bomb. The resulting explosion killed Temruogtaf and annihilated the entire forest.
Approximately eight years after the fall of Ronabera, Temruogtaf, alongside the other members of the Winged Bloodline, took part in the defeat of Ragna, who had attempted to stop them from repeating the destruction they inflicted upon the Kingdom of Lese in another distant land. With Ragna now defeated, Borgius gathered the members of the bloodline to discuss how to deal with him. Temruogtaf suggested opening Ragna’s skull and devouring his brain, a slow and agonizing way to kill him. However, Ultimatia proposed a different fate, believing that Ragna’s survival up until that point was dictated by the Dragon God’s will. Instead of execution, she suggested allowing him to join the Winged Bloodline, offering him the chance to transform into a Superior Dragon.
During this exchange, Ragna learned the truth about dragons all lower and middle-class dragons were nothing more than beasts created from the blood of Superior Dragons. However, a human who was personally bestowed the Dragon Monarch’s blood had the potential to become a Superior Dragon themselves. As Ultimatia stabbed Ragna with a blade formed from her own blood, she initiated the transformation ritual, beginning his conversion into a Superior Dragon. Overcome with despair and unwilling to become one of them, Ragna made a desperate leap toward the remnants of his silver sword and stabbed himself in the heart, choosing to die rather than submit.
Disappointed by his choice, Ultimatia concluded that perhaps it was never his destiny to join them. She and the rest of the Winged Bloodline left his corpse in the ruins of the land they had just destroyed, unaware that Crimson had secretly recovered Ragna’s body.
Approximately twenty years after the fall of Ronabera, Ragna, now at the peak of his power, launched a campaign to annihilate the Winged Bloodline with the aid of Crimson. Over time, he successfully hunted down and killed nearly every member of the bloodline, leaving only a few survivors after their ultimate destruction.
Powers & Abilities
As a Superior Dragon, Melgubude possesses all the fundamental abilities of a fully matured high-class dragon, including immense physical strength, magical power, and rapid regeneration. He can generate and manipulate flames, spawn lesser dragons from his blood, and shift between his humanoid and full dragon form, the latter allowing him to unleash his true power. Like all Superior Dragons, Melgubude is powerful enough to single-handedly destroy entire armies of tens of thousands of soldiers, making him a force of mass devastation.
Physical and Magical Abilities
Melgubude’s strength and magic power are immense, befitting his rank as the 8th seat of the Winged Bloodline. He is superior to dragons like Baron Sierra (13th seat) and Urshgaurn, easily outclassing them in both raw power and combat abilities. Despite his massive size, Melgubude is capable of moving at supersonic speeds, making him faster than even skilled dragon hunters like Leonica. His immense durability is also notable during his battle against Ragna, he survived a dropkick to the face, which sent him flying and caused multiple explosions, yet he sustained only moderate damage (losing half his head, which was later frozen). His scales are harder than steel, providing natural armor, and as a Superior Dragon, he possesses multiple layers of anti-magic resistance, making him particularly resilient against Silverine weapons, which are designed to counter dragons.
Dragonification and Enhanced Resistance
Melgubude can undergo Dragonification, shifting from his humanoid form into a fully realized dragon form, where he resembles a giant amphibious salamander-like creature. In this state, all of his physical attributes are significantly amplified, granting him even greater combat prowess. Additionally, as a Superior Dragon, Melgubude possesses Enhanced Silverine Resistance, making him highly resistant to argentum weapons and Silverine-based attacks, which are traditionally lethal to dragons.
Predatory Magic
One of Melgubude’s most fearsome abilities is his Predatory Magic, which allows him to utilize the world as his ally in hunting prey. This magic requires him to predefine his target, after which he can activate a range of powerful effects to pursue and eliminate them. With this ability, he can:
