Sylphiette

Sylphiette Greyrat (シルフィエット, Shirufietto) is Rudeus Greyrat’s childhood friend, notable for her mixed heritage as part human, elf, and beast race. She possesses high magical talent, particularly excelling in silent incantation magic, which allows her to cast spells without speaking.

Following the Teleport Incident, Sylphiette suffered from severe mana exhaustion, causing her once vibrant green hair to turn completely white. She was later taken in by Princess Ariel Anemoi Asura, where she assumed the alias Fitts and became Ariel’s personal bodyguard. During her time with the princess, she refined her combat skills and became a highly skilled mage, feared and respected within the Asura Kingdom.

Despite the years apart, Sylphiette never forgot Rudeus, and upon reuniting with him, their bond rekindled into love. She later became his first wife, offering him emotional support and helping him overcome his past traumas. Her loyalty, strength, and devotion make her one of the most influential figures in Rudeus’ life, as well as a key player in the unfolding events of the world

Sylphie and Rudeus Greyrat

Sylphiette was initially shy and meek due to the constant bullying she faced as a child. She was highly dependent on Rudeus, seeing him as her protector and closest companion. When Rudeus expressed his desire to leave and pursue further studies, she was devastated, breaking down in tears at the thought of losing him. However, after he was sent away to tutor Eris Boreas Greyrat, Sylphiette resolved to train and improve herself, hoping to support Rudeus in the future.

During her time as Fitts, Sylphiette adopted a cold and silent persona, presenting herself as a serious, reliable, and intimidating figure. This persona made her appear competent and knowledgeable, which unintentionally drew Rudeus toward her for advice. However, beneath this mask, she remained deeply insecure, afraid to reveal her true identity and unsure of how Rudeus would react.

After reuniting with Rudeus and eventually marrying him, Sylphiette became demure, supportive, and accommodating, embracing her role as the housewife of the Greyrat household. Over time, she gained confidence and assertiveness, taking a more active role in supporting both her husband and their family. Despite her gentle nature, she is prone to jealousy when other women get close to Rudeus, though she rarely acts on it. However, she is willing to accept other women into the family as long as they genuinely love Rudeus and are loved by him in return.

Appearance

In her youth, Sylphiette had short green hair and elf-like ears, which, along with her tomboyish appearance, initially led Rudeus to mistake her for a boy.

After the Teleport Incident, her hair turned white due to mana exhaustion. As she matured, her body became more feminine, but her slender physique and choice of attire often made her appear somewhat masculine. She also adopted a signature accessory—white gloves, which she permanently wears starting from Season 2.

Background

Sylphiette is the only child of Laws, a half-blood Elf who worked as a hunter, and her mother, who was part of the Beast Race. She was born and raised in Buena Village, located in the Fittoa Region of the Asura Kingdom.

During her childhood, Sylphiette was frequently bullied due to being a hybrid and because of her emerald-green hair, which closely resembled the hair color of the Superd Tribe, a race feared and stigmatized across the land. Her parents did their best to protect her. Her mother cut her hair short and stitched her custom pants to help her run away more easily, while her father petitioned the other children’s parents to stop their harassment. Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain, as the bullying continued.

Plot

As a child, Sylphiette was frequently bullied her tormentors would throw mud balls and rocks at her, sometimes even kicking her. She had resigned herself to this mistreatment until Rudeus Greyrat intervened and protected her. From that moment on, the two became close friends, with Rudeus affectionately calling her “Sylph.” During their time together, Rudeus taught Sylphy math, reading, writing, and, most importantly, magic, including voiceless incantation. Their daily practice sessions became a source of joy, and her bullying eventually stopped. It was revealed during training that Sylphy had a natural fear of fire, which weakened her ability to use Fire Magic—a fear that stemmed from accidentally burning her hands when she was three years old. However, she excelled in Wind and Water Magic.

One day, when Sylphy saw Paul Greyrat restraining an unconscious Rudeus, she attacked Paul with a voiceless intermediate-rank spell. Though Paul dodged effortlessly, he was shocked by her power and Rudeus’ teachings. After Laws Greyrat explained the situation, Sylphy accepted the separation but remained determined to improve herself. She sought information about Rudeus’ whereabouts from Zenith Greyrat, who refused to disclose anything but instead taught her Healing Magic. Sylphy soon discovered that she could use voiceless healing spells, which became her strongest skill. She also approached Lilia Greyrat for answers, but Lilia, like Zenith, remained silent about Rudeus’ location. Instead, she taught Sylphy etiquette and noble manners.

On Rudeus’ 10th birthday, Sylphy carved a wooden pendant to serve as a good luck charm similar to the one her father wore and arranged for it to be delivered to Rudeus. However, before it could reach him, the Teleport Incident occurred.

Sylphy was teleported into the sky above the Silver Palace, where she struggled to break her fall using magic and somehow survived—though she sustained severe bruises and fractured legs. Immediately afterward, she was forced to fight a Terminate Boar, which was about to attack Princess Ariel. Despite her injuries, Sylphy unleashed her strongest magic to defeat the boar and healed her broken legs with voiceless healing magic. She then collapsed from exhaustion due to mana depletion.

Upon waking up, Sylphy realized her hair had turned white from mana exhaustion. She was then interrogated about her identity and magical abilities. Though her claims of being from Buena Village and learning magic from Rudeus seemed unbelievable at first, Princess Ariel insisted that Sylphy become her guardian, taking the place of Derrick Redbat, who had died protecting her from the Terminate Boar. Sylphy agreed, on the condition that her crime of entering the Silver Palace without permission be pardoned and that Ariel help her find her family and friends.

As news of the Teleport Incident spread, Sylphy’s story became more credible, especially since she was clearly not a noble, as evidenced by her limited noble etiquette knowledge, which she had learned from Lilia Greyrat. Additionally, rumors circulated about Eris Boreas Greyrat’s transformation, leading some to speculate that Sylphy was actually Eris in disguise. However, her true worth was proven when she defeated Night Eye Crow, a notorious assassin who had eliminated numerous nobles over the past decade. Following this, Sylphy’s nightmares of falling from the sky ceased.

Since she rarely spoke and exclusively used voiceless incantations, she eventually became known as “Silent Fitts.” As Ariel’s bodyguard, she successfully protected the princess from numerous assassination attempts and ultimately left the Asura Kingdom with Ariel to enroll at the Ranoa Magic Academy.

On their journey to Sharia, Fitts, Ariel, and 15 nobles were relentlessly ambushed. The assassins isolated their targets, picking them off one by one. The final ambush, which took place at the Red Dragon’s Upper Jaw, involved 10 swordsmen, 1 magician, and 1 healer. Fitts single-handedly crushed the ambush, showcasing combat techniques using voiceless incantation that Rudeus had taught her. After this overwhelming display of power, no further assassination attempts occurred.

Upon enrolling at Ranoa Magic Academy, Sylphiette quickly gained a reputation by defeating Linia Dedoldia and Pursena Adoldia. She later became a member of Ariel’s faction within the Student Council, where they focused on gathering allies to help Ariel’s bid for the Asura Kingdom throne.

Years later, rumors spread about “Quagmire Rudeus,” a powerful student at the academy. Sylphy, recognizing the name, confirmed that Rudeus was her childhood friend from Buena Village. As a result, Ariel leaked the information to Vice Principal Jinas Halfas, who then sent Rudeus a letter of invitation to join Ranoa Magic Academy.

Achievements

Throughout her journey and training, Sylphiette has accomplished several significant feats. One of her most notable achievements is mastering Voiceless Incantation, a skill she first learned from Rudeus and later refined through years of rigorous practice. This ability allowed her to cast spells instantly, making her a formidable magician in both offense and defense.

She also attained the rank of Water Saint-Class Magician, a testament to her exceptional magical prowess. This level of mastery placed her among the strongest magic users, enabling her to unleash powerful spells with precision and efficiency.

Additionally, Sylphiette served as Princess Ariel’s personal guard, a role in which she demonstrated remarkable loyalty and combat proficiency. She successfully defended the princess from multiple assassination attempts and played a crucial role in securing Ariel’s political standing. Though she eventually stepped away from this position, her contributions during this time solidified her reputation as an elite magic user and strategist.
