Silvers Rayleigh

Silvers Rayleigh, also known as the “Dark King,” is a legendary retired pirate who served as the first mate of the Roger Pirates and was famously referred to as the “Right Hand of the Pirate King.” Renowned for his immense strength and wisdom, Rayleigh is one of the prominent figures from the era of Gol D. Roger, alongside legends such as Whitebeard, Shiki, and Monkey D. Garp. After the Roger Pirates disbanded, Rayleigh retired to the Sabaody Archipelago, where he worked as a coating mechanic. He later became an ally of the Straw Hat Pirates and mentored Monkey D. Luffy in the use of Haki during the two-year timeskip.

Appearance in Anime

Rayleigh joined the Roger Pirates as one of its founding members, becoming Gol D. Roger’s most trusted companion and first mate. As the “Right Hand of the Pirate King,” Rayleigh played a pivotal role in their journey to Laugh Tale, where the crew uncovered the secrets of the world and Joy Boy’s treasure. After Roger’s execution and the disbandment of the crew, Rayleigh chose a quieter life, settling on the Sabaody Archipelago and working as a ship coating mechanic.

Despite his retirement, Rayleigh maintained his influence and connections. He became the husband of Shakuyaku, a former pirate, and befriended Hatchan, a former Arlong Pirate. When the Straw Hat Pirates arrived on Sabaody, Rayleigh’s involvement reignited his connection to the next generation of pirates, particularly Luffy.
