Sigrid Nana-iro

Sigrid Nana-iro, known as Shiguru Nanairo (七色 なないろ シグル, Nanairo Shiguru) in Japan, is a character from the anime and manga series Beyblade X. She is the older sister of Multi Nana-iro and plays a prominent role within the series.

Young Sigrid Nana-Iro confidently holds her Beyblade

Sigrid Nana-iro was the opposite of her younger sister, Multi Nana-iro, who excelled in multiple areas. Initially, Sigrid showed no interest in Beyblading. However, her perspective changed when she witnessed a bully intimidating Multi and other Bladers after defeating them in battle. To protect her sister, Sigrid borrowed Multi’s Beyblade despite never having Beybladed before and defeated the bully on her first try. While walking home with Multi, she expressed surprise at her own strength but admitted she had fun. This moment sparked her interest in Beyblading, and she asked Multi to battle her regularly.

Over time, Sigrid and Multi engaged in countless battles, with Multi using various Beyblades and strategies. Later, after Multi became a Bey Crafter, she gifted Sigrid a prototype Beyblade model of Scythe Incendio. However, Sigrid’s dominance in their matches defeating Multi 10,000 consecutive times strained their relationship. Eventually, Sigrid was scouted to go pro and was required to move into a Blading house managed by the industry.

Before leaving home, Sigrid consulted Multi about her decision. During her trial period with Khrome Ryugu, she battled him but was defeated. The executive director deemed her Beyblade unfit for professional play. Reflecting on Multi’s advice, Sigrid made her decision. The following morning, after receiving her new Beyblade, Pearl Tiger, she packed her bags and left home. Sigrid later joined Team Pendragon after receiving an invitation and debuted as a Pro Blader. Alongside her Blading career, she also launched a career as a model.

Personality

Sigrid Nana-iro is known for her dry tone of speech and blunt, straightforward manner of expressing her thoughts. Her immense strength as a Blader often leads her to openly call other Bladers weak, including her younger sister, Multi Nana-iro. Despite her candid demeanor, Sigrid is generally polite and courteous in her interactions.

She shares a love for sushi with Jaxon Cross, particularly enjoying the offerings from Komaba Sushi, showcasing a more relatable and lighthearted side to her personality.

Beyblades

  • Claw Leon 5-60T: Sigrid borrowed this Beyblade from her sister, Multi Nana-iro, for her very first battle.
  • Scythe Incendio 4-60T: This prototype Beyblade was the first Beyblade crafted by Multi specifically for Sigrid. Although Multi later completed a finalized version intended for Sigrid, Sigrid left to join Pendragon before receiving it. Instead, Multi eventually gave the completed Scythe Incendio to Robin Kazami, though Sigrid later borrowed it from Robin during the episode A Rainbow Guest.
  • Pearl Tiger 3-60U: Sigrid’s primary Beyblade in Beyblade X, given to her upon joining Pendragon.
  • Relationships

    Multi Nana-iro
Multi is Sigrid’s younger sister. Despite their familial bond, their relationship has been strained due to Sigrid’s dominance in their Beybattles, defeating Multi 10,000 consecutive times, which created tension between them.

    Jaxon Cross
Jaxon was Sigrid’s teammate in Pendragon before he left the team to reclimb the X Tower with the goal of challenging Khrome Ryugu.

    Khrome Ryugu
Khrome is one of Sigrid’s current teammates in Pendragon, contributing to their shared success as a champion team.

    Ciel Kaminari
Ciel is also one of Sigrid’s teammates in Pendragon, forming part of the trio that dominates the Pro League.

    Special Moves

    Xtreme Dash:
This move utilizes the gears on the Beyblade’s “Bit” interacting with the gears on the “X-Celerator Rail” (or “Xtreme Line”) of the Xtreme Stadium, significantly increasing the Beyblade’s speed.

  • Scythe Incendio’s Xtreme Dash – Crescent Judgment: This variation uses the Beyblade’s sickle-like blades to deliver a powerful uppercut to the opponent.
  • Pearl Tiger’s Xtreme Dash – Strike Hunt: This variant uses Pearl Tiger’s three types of blades to deliver a devastating uppercut attack against the opponent.
  • Trivia

      • Sigrid’s relationship with Multi Nana-iro was accidentally revealed early on Multi’s page on the official Korean website, where it stated that Multi “has a fixation about never being able to defeat her older sister.”
      • Sigrid’s surname, Nana-iro (七色), translates to “seven colors.”
      • Her Japanese name, Shiguru, is a play on the word “single,” contrasting with her sister’s name, Multi, which represents multiplicity. While Sigrid specializes in a single Beyblade type (Balance), Multi uses multiple types of Beyblades.
      • In Chapter 13 of the manga, various Sigrid fans are seen wearing shirts with her name spelled as “Siguru,” though this is likely an error.
      • As of the third volume of the Beyblade X manga series, Sigrid’s Launch Power is recorded at 9500.
