Shohei is a very laid-back and relaxed individual. Among his group of friends, he is the most positive and energetic. When he learns that failing the midterm exams would prevent him from joining the sports festival and force him to take a supplementary exam, he immediately starts studying. During vacation, with no money to spend, he suggests playing soccer and leads his classmates to the park with a ball in hand. Even when his friends take a break, Shohei continues running around tirelessly by himself.

He holds no hostility toward Kikyo. When Rintaro Tsumugi formally introduces him to Kaoruko and Subaru, Shohei instantly gets along with Kaoruko without hesitation. When Subaru apologizes for her harsh words during their first encounter, he casually replies that he had already forgotten and that he’s used to being scolded, so it doesn’t bother him.

Shohei’s simple and carefree nature makes him somewhat oblivious to social cues. He almost blurts out that he knows Kaoruko and Subaru in front of others but is quickly stopped by Saku and Ayato. Unlike them, who wait for Rintaro to explain, Shohei bluntly tells Rintaro that it’s obvious he likes Kaoruko, leaving him flustered. Despite his playful honesty, Shohei is kind hearted and never dwells on others’ mistakes. He is quick to encourage those around him and often lifts the group’s mood. He also acts as a good confidant and advice giver, especially to Rintaro, and shares a love for food with Kaoruko, showing how naturally the two get along.
