Shizuku Yaegashi (八重樫 雫, Yaegashi Shizuku), is a main character in the Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest (Arifureta Shokugyō de Sekai Saikyō) series. She is one of the students summoned from Japan to the fantasy world of Tortus as part of a group of heroes selected to aid in the battle against demons. Possessing the class of Swordmaster, Shizuku is highly disciplined, elegant, and considered one of the most reliable and level-headed members of the group.
A childhood friend of Kouki Amanogawa and Ryutarou Sakagami, and the best friend of Kaori Shirasaki, Shizuku initially travels alongside the other summoned heroes. However, after the betrayals of Eri Nakamura and the death of Daisuke Hiyama, she eventually joins Hajime Nagumo’s party, contributing significantly to the efforts to defeat the false god Ehit. After returning to Japan, Shizuku becomes one of Hajime’s wives.

Before being summoned to Tortus, Shizuku was a student at the same high school as Hajime Nagumo and Kaori Shirasaki, where she was admired for her grace, intelligence, and skill in kendo. Known for her strong sense of duty and calm demeanor, Shizuku was widely respected among her peers.
After being summoned to the fantasy world along with her classmates, she was assigned the combat role of Swordmaster, a class emphasizing speed, technique, and melee prowess. As the journey progressed and her bond with Hajime grew, she gradually fell in love with him and became one of his companions and eventual brides.

Shizuku is a beautiful young woman with a slim, athletic figure, long black hair often tied in a ponytail, and dark brown eyes. Her fashion sense, both in the fantasy world and upon returning to Japan, reflects her practical and elegant nature.
In battle, she wears a lightweight combat uniform or armor suited to her Swordmaster class, often carrying a katana, which complements her precise and fluid fighting style.

Shizuku is mature, composed, and disciplined, often acting as the voice of reason within the group. She possesses a strong sense of honor and responsibility, frequently stepping in to mediate conflicts or offer emotional support to others especially to Kaori and Kouki. Her calm demeanor masks a deeply introspective and empathetic soul.
Although she initially seems emotionally reserved, Shizuku is highly observant and introspective, gradually acknowledging her growing feelings for Hajime. Her ability to adapt, remain level-headed, and acknowledge her vulnerabilities makes her one of the most emotionally balanced and grounded characters in the series.
Role in the Story
Journey as a Swordmaster: After being summoned to Tortus, Shizuku quickly proves herself as a skilled combatant, supporting the frontlines with her speed and swordsmanship. She plays a key role in stabilizing the hero group, especially when Kouki’s ideals begin to clash with Hajime’s brutal realism.
Aftermath of Betrayal: Following the betrayals by Eri Nakamura and the death of Daisuke Hiyama, Shizuku’s faith in their mission is shaken. She recognizes the flaws in Kouki’s thinking and the futility of clinging to idealism without facing reality. This maturity draws her closer to Hajime, whose brutal honesty and resolve challenge her worldview.
Alliance with Hajime: Eventually joining Hajime’s party alongside Kouki, Ryutarou, and Suzu, Shizuku participates in clearing the remaining Great Labyrinths.
