A dedicated member of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army and a member of Shinoa Hīragi’s squad in the Moon Demon Company, Kimizuki plays a critical role in the team’s battles against vampires. Appearance in Battle

Kimizuki is a tall, imposing figure within Shinoa Squad, standing out with his short, messy dark pink hair and reddish-brown eyes. His face is framed by his untamed hair, which complements his sharp features. Kimizuki is often seen wearing black, thick-framed long rectangular glasses that add to his edgy appearance. His left ear is adorned with two piercings, showcasing his rebellious personality.

In his school uniform, Kimizuki dons a grey gakuran, a traditional Japanese jacket with a standing collar that features teal trim. The jacket is typically left unbuttoned, with a hoodie worn underneath, signaling his laid-back, casual style.

When enlisted into the Moon Demon Company, Kimizuki transitions into a more formal military appearance, donning the standard JIDA uniform. This consists of a long-sleeved black coat with light green details, including shoulder epaulettes. A brown Sam Browne belt crosses diagonally over his right shoulder, accompanied by two rows of gold buttons on the front. He wears a pair of white gloves and a white web belt with a gold waist-plate. Completing the uniform, Kimizuki wears standard military trousers, with two white belts around his right leg, and knee-high black boots that fit snugly over his trouser leggings. His attire reflects his disciplined yet rebellious nature, fitting the role of a fierce and skilled soldier in the Demon Army.

Personality

Kimizuki initially comes across as confrontational, often testing his boundaries and those around him. His aggression is especially noticeable when he first encounters Yu, picking a fight with him and continuing the rivalry when they meet again. However, as time passes, Guren observes that Kimizuki begins to show signs of becoming more amicable and less volatile, suggesting a growth in his character. Shinoa, in particular, notes that Kimizuki’s earlier attacks on Yu were likely a way for him to gauge Yu’s strength and assert his dominance within the group, a common trait of his desire to maintain control.

Despite his often brash exterior, Kimizuki is intelligent and diligent. He is shown to excel academically, earning perfect scores in Latin, English, and Japanese tests, though his demeanor in class tends to be nonchalant. When first introduced, he is seen resting in class, his legs kicked up on the chair in front of him, a book covering his face while not paying attention. Confident in his intellect and abilities, Kimizuki does not hesitate to remind others of his accomplishments, maintaining a bit of a self-assured attitude.

In addition to his academic talents, Kimizuki possesses practical skills, such as being able to repair and drive cars, along with a surprising proficiency in cooking. His strong sense of responsibility and competence extends to his role in the Moon Demon Company, where he is shown to be reliable in following orders, whether it’s attacking a demon or responding to Shinoa’s instructions. His confidence in his combat abilities is evident when he reassures Yu that they are capable of handling a squad of vampires.

Kimizuki’s loyalty to his team and his willingness to support them are key elements of his character. Whether it’s defending a teammate from an attack or using his abilities to help solve problems, Kimizuki proves to be a dependable and capable member of the team. A notable example of his dedication is when he uses his Devil’s Coffin ability to help Yu during a demonic possession, saving him while simultaneously dealing with the threat. This act highlights his quick thinking and his role as someone who not only focuses on his own strength but also supports his teammates in times of need.

History

After the apocalypse, when most adults perished, Kimizuki took on the responsibility of caring for his younger sister, Mirai, who was severely affected by the apocalyptic virus. With resources becoming scarce, Kimizuki’s ability to drive made him a valuable asset to the surviving children, but he chose to remain by his sister’s side, tending to her while she was bedridden. His dedication to Mirai was unwavering, prioritizing her care above all else, even when others needed his help. This act of selflessness and familial devotion defined much of his early life in the post-apocalyptic world.

As Kimizuki grew older, the burden of Mirai’s medical expenses pushed him to make a difficult decision. He joined the army to earn the money required for her treatment, despite the harsh realities of the world he lived in. His time in the army saw him serve as a guard in the Shibuya Military Police, where he worked to maintain order in a world that had fallen into chaos. His past experiences shaped him into a capable and pragmatic individual, determined to protect his sister and help those around him, all while navigating the complexities of the harsh new world order.
