Satone Shichimiya (七宮 智音, Shichimiya Satone), also known as “Magical Devil Girl: Sophia Ring SP Saturn VII” or Saturn Citymire in the English dub, is a prominent supporting character in the Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai! light novel and anime series. Introduced in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! -Heart Throb- (Season 2), Satone is a former classmate of Yūta Togashi who shares a deep past and mutual understanding with him due to their shared “chūnibyō” (eighth-grade syndrome) history.
Quirky, expressive, and unapologetically dramatic, Satone still clings to her delusional persona, embracing her “Magical Devil Girl” identity with flair and confidence. Her re-entry into Yūta’s life sparks emotional tension, particularly as it becomes clear that she once had romantic feelings for him—and may still carry those feelings deep inside.
Background

Appearance in Anime
Satone was once a classmate and close friend of Yūta Togashi during his peak chūnibyō phase. The two bonded over their elaborate fantasy personas and immersed themselves in their imaginary worlds. However, Satone moved away before high school, and the two lost contact.
When she unexpectedly returns in the second season, she resumes her over-the-top “Sophia Ring SP Saturn VII” persona and quickly rekindles her eccentric bond with Yūta. Despite appearing purely whimsical on the surface, Satone is revealed to have deep emotional conflict, especially regarding her lingering romantic feelings for Yūta and her struggle to let go of her delusions to face reality.
Appearance
Satone has a slender build, curly light pink hair tied in twin tails with star-themed accessories, and bright pink eyes. She is typically seen wearing her school uniform, which she stylizes with elements that match her magical girl aesthetic, such as capes or flashy accessories when roleplaying as “Sophia Ring SP Saturn VII.”
Her expressions range from playful and dramatic to quietly melancholic, especially in moments of vulnerability. Her fantasy persona is often accentuated with exaggerated poses and gestures, making her a visually dynamic character.
Personality
Satone is enthusiastic, imaginative, and emotionally rich. She fully embraces her “chūnibyō” identity, often referring to others by fantasy names and delivering dramatic speeches about magic and destiny. Unlike Yūta, who tries to suppress his embarrassing past, Satone remains immersed in her delusions, seeing them as a vital part of who she is.
However, Satone is more than just a comedic character. She is kind-hearted, introspective, and emotionally complex. She hides her genuine pain behind her magical persona, especially when it comes to her unrequited love for Yūta. Her inner turmoil becomes more evident as she struggles between remaining true to her chūnibyō self and letting go for the sake of emotional growth.
Role in the Story
Reunion with Yūta: Satone is reintroduced in Season 2 when she transfers to Yūta’s school. Her return brings nostalgia and comedic chaos, especially as she disrupts the budding relationship between Yūta and Rikka Takanashi. While she acts like her over-the-top magical girl self, her actions often mask her underlying emotional motivations.
Emotional Conflict: As Satone spends more time with Yūta, she realizes that her feelings for him haven’t faded. However, seeing his affection for Rikka causes inner conflict. Rather than act on her emotions destructively, she chooses to support their relationship, suppressing her own heartbreak to allow Yūta to be happy.
Choosing Herself: By the end of Season 2, Satone experiences a bittersweet growth. While she remains in touch with her chūnibyō identity, she begins to understand her emotional needs more clearly, choosing not to disrupt Yūta and Rikka’s bond. Her arc becomes a quiet coming-of-age tale, showing that self-acceptance can coexist with fantasy.
Relationships
Yūta Togashi: Satone’s former chūnibyō partner and unrequited crush. Their shared past creates a strong bond, and her feelings for Yūta are sincere and lingering. Despite this, she respects his relationship with Rikka and chooses not to interfere.
Rikka Takanashi: Initially viewed as a romantic rival, Satone gradually forms a strange friendship with Rikka. Though she envies Rikka’s closeness to Yūta, Satone never acts out maliciously. Instead, she becomes a supportive, if chaotic, presence in their lives.
The Far Eastern Magic Society: While not an official member, Satone occasionally interacts with Rikka’s eccentric friend group, often indulging in their antics and elevating the absurdity of their chūnibyō roleplay sessions.
