Appearance in Anime

Sasami Sasasegawa is a student at Riki Naoe’s school and serves as Rin Natsume’s rival. Despite their frequent arguments, Sasami is genuinely interested in forming a friendship with Rin, though their opposing preferences Rin’s love for cats and Sasami’s strong affection for dogs often lead to comical clashes. As the captain of the girls’ softball team, Sasami is known for her assertive leadership, often sending in three of her teammates Yukari Nakamura, Rei Kawagoe, and Sakiko Watanabe before stepping in herself.

Her dislike of cats stems from a painful childhood experience involving the disappearance of her pet cat, Kuro. In her route, which takes place after the events of Refrain, it is revealed that Kuro had created a world mirroring the Little Busters’ universe around the school, allowing Sasami the chance to see him one final time before his passing. Additionally, her name is often noted for being a tongue twister so much so that even Sasami occasionally mispronounces it.
