Sandra Bland was a 28-year-old woman who was found dead in a jail cell in Waller County, Texas.
She had hung herself, although many speculate that there was some type of cover up.
Bland’s death sparked a nationwide controversy regarding the following of proper traffic stop procedures after she was questionably taken into custody on July 13, 2015.
Prior to being stopped, Sandra Bland was on her way to start her new career at her alma mater Prairie View A&M University.
On January 6th, 2015,Brian Encinia, the police officer who originally pulled over bland, was indicted on a perjury charge.
