Sakurako is a student at Nanamori Middle School, where she is a member of the Student Council alongside Himawari Furutani, Sakurako’s self-proclaimed rival. Although she’s not academically gifted or particularly responsible, she managed to secure a council position, largely due to her enthusiastic personality (and despite her lack of diligence).

In the spin-off Ōmuro-ke, she takes on a central role, where her home life and relationships with her older sisters Nadeshiko and Hanako are explored in more detail, giving viewers and readers a deeper look into her everyday world.

Sakurako has short, light brown hair often styled in a somewhat messy fashion with small pigtails or side buns, and light amber-colored eyes. Her expressions are highly animated, reflecting her often exaggerated emotions. She typically wears the Nanamori Middle School uniform, but in Ōmuro-ke, she’s frequently seen in casual homewear, adding to the cozy slice-of-life tone of the spin-off.

Sakurako is energetic, impulsive, and a little airheaded, often acting before she thinks. She’s known for picking fights with Himawari, yet she clearly shares a close bond with her, even if neither will admit it outright. Despite her immature and competitive nature, Sakurako is loyal, loving, and emotionally intuitive in her own chaotic way.

She often tries to appear tough and rebellious, but it’s clear she values her friendships and family deeply. Sakurako also tends to exaggerate her achievements and claim credit for things she hasn’t done—especially when Himawari is nearby.
