Personality

Kise is initially portrayed as a carefree and cheerful individual who is naturally talented and confident. His easygoing personality and charisma make him popular with others, and he is often seen joking around with his teammates and friends. Despite his laid-back demeanor, Kise is fiercely competitive and takes basketball very seriously, especially when it comes to playing against his former teammates from the Generation of Miracles.

One of Kise’s defining traits is his admiration for people with greater skill than himself. He deeply respects Tetsuya Kuroko, whom he calls “Kurokocchi,” and sees him as his inspiration for joining the Generation of Miracles. Kise’s admiration for Kuroko stems from Kuroko’s unique abilities and unselfish playstyle, which Kise finds fascinating.

Although Kise is incredibly gifted, he initially struggled with a lack of motivation, believing that his natural talent would always be enough to win. However, after facing strong opponents like Kagami Taiga and the rest of the Generation of Miracles, Kise begins to push himself harder and strives to become the best version of himself.

Ryōta Kise faces off against Seirin, bringing his signature flair and skill to the intense showdown as he aims for victory.

Copying Ability

Kise’s ability to copy techniques is what makes him so formidable on the court. Whether it’s a shot, dribble, or defensive move, Kise can instantly replicate it after seeing it once. This ability allows him to compete with players of any skill level and match them move for move. While he initially struggled with more complex techniques, such as those used by members of the Generation of Miracles, Kise eventually masters the art of copying even their most difficult moves.

Perfect Copy

Kise’s ultimate ability, Perfect Copy, allows him to replicate not only regular basketball techniques but also the unique skills of the Generation of Miracles. When using Perfect Copy, Kise can mimic moves such as Aomine Daiki’s street basketball style, Midorima Shintarō’s long-range shots, Murasakibara Atsushi’s defense, and even Akashi Seijūrō’s Emperor Eye. However, Perfect Copy has a time limit, and using it for extended periods takes a significant toll on Kise’s body. Despite this, it makes him one of the most dangerous players in the series when fully unleashed.

Athleticism

In addition to his copying ability, Kise is an exceptionally athletic player. He has incredible speed, agility, and jumping power, allowing him to move quickly on the court and perform acrobatic plays. His physical strength also enables him to compete with larger opponents, making him a well-rounded player.

Versatility

Kise’s ability to copy the moves of others allows him to play multiple positions on the court. Whether as a scorer, defender, or playmaker, Kise can adapt to any situation, making him a valuable asset to his team. His versatility ensures that he can handle any opponent, no matter how skilled or specialized they are.

Relationships

Tetsuya Kuroko

Kise greatly admires Kuroko and considers him a close friend. Kuroko was the one who introduced Kise to the Generation of Miracles, and Kise often calls him “Kurokocchi” as a term of endearment. Kise’s respect for Kuroko comes from Kuroko’s unique playstyle and unselfish attitude, which Kise finds inspiring. Their friendship remains strong throughout the series, despite being on opposing teams.

Generation of Miracles

Kise shares a complex relationship with his former teammates from the Generation of Miracles. While they all respect his talent, Kise’s reliance on copying abilities initially made him feel inferior to the others. However, as he grows as a player, Kise becomes more confident in his abilities and earns the respect of his former teammates, particularly Aomine Daiki, who sees Kise as a worthy opponent.

Taiga Kagami

Kise views Kagami as a rival, especially after witnessing Kagami’s raw talent and determination. Kagami’s ability to challenge players from the Generation of Miracles pushes Kise to become stronger and improve his own skills. Their rivalry is one of mutual respect, and Kise often enjoys playing against Kagami because of the challenge he presents.

Kaijō High Teammates

At Kaijō High, Kise has a strong bond with his teammates, particularly his captain Kasamatsu Yukio. Despite Kise’s laid-back attitude, Kasamatsu helps keep him focused and disciplined during games. The two share a mentor-student relationship, and Kise often looks up to Kasamatsu for guidance.
