Roxy Migurdia

Roxy M. Greyrat, born Roxy Migurdia (ロキシー・ミグルディア, Rokishī Migurudia), is a highly skilled Migurd mage and former magic tutor. Unlike most of her race, she is unable to use telepathy, which made her feel alienated in her village, prompting her to leave and seek her own path. Initially attempting to live as an adventurer, she struggled to maintain a stable livelihood and eventually transitioned into a career as a traveling tutor, where her magical expertise proved invaluable.

Roxy’s journey led her to the Greyrat household, where she became Rudeus Greyrat’s first magic instructor. She played a crucial role in shaping his abilities, teaching him the fundamentals of magic and inspiring his deep admiration for her. Her teachings laid the foundation for Rudeus’ remarkable magical growth.

Following the Teleport Incident, Roxy joined Paul Greyrat in the search for missing survivors, displaying her relentless determination and unwavering loyalty to those she cared about. Her experiences in this perilous journey further established her as a formidable mage and an indispensable ally to the Greyrat family.

Appearance in Anime

Roxy is a calm and collected individual with a wise outlook on life, always striving for self-improvement. Highly intelligent, she has an excellent ability to piece together information and make rational deductions. Despite her composed demeanor, she possesses a deep curiosity and a strong determination to expand her knowledge and abilities.

In her youth, Roxy was headstrong and independent, leaving her Migurd village in search of adventure. She was unafraid to defy authority, as seen when she openly challenged her teacher at Ranoa Magic Academy after mastering his most advanced spell. However, her journey as an adventurer and her later encounters with Rudeus gradually humbled her, making her more open to learning from others.

Despite her wisdom, Roxy has a clumsy and awkward side, making her prone to mistakes in unexpected or tense situations. She also harbors a complex about her petite figure, often lamenting that she appears childlike and unattractive, and she gets annoyed when others mistake her for a child.

After witnessing the family life of Paul and Zenith, Roxy developed an idealistic view of romance, dreaming of having a fateful encounter in a labyrinth, starting a family, and continuing her passion for teaching as both a mentor and mother.

Appearance

Roxy has a short stature and appears to be in her mid-teens physically, despite being an adult woman. Her complexion is pale, resembling fine sand, and she has long blue hair tied into two braids that reach below her waist. Her hair color occasionally appears green in sunlight, which often leads to distrust and fear from others due to its similarity to the Superd Tribe’s green hair. Her eyes match the deep blue color of her hair, giving her a striking yet misunderstood appearance.

Her typical attire consists of a long-sleeved white and gray button-down shirt with black edges, paired with a short black skirt that accentuates her well-toned legs. Over this, she wears a large light brown cloak with white and black outlines, adding a mystical air to her presence. One of her most distinct accessories is her black hat, adorned with a gold band around its circumference and two wide white stripes on either side. The tip of the hat droops lazily, while its flap stands upright, giving her a signature silhouette.

Perhaps the most defining feature of Roxy’s appearance is the staff she carries, topped with a brilliant blue gem that gleams unnaturally in the sunlight. As a Migurd, her small, childlike frame often leads people to mistake her for a teenager, which she finds frustrating. Despite this, her presence commands respect due to her intelligence, skill, and reputation as a powerful magician.

Background

Roxy was born to Rowin Migurdia and Rokari Migurdia of the Migurd Tribe, a race residing in the Demon Continent. However, unlike others in her tribe, she was born without their innate telepathic ability, which led to a deep sense of isolation throughout her childhood. Since she couldn’t communicate as effortlessly as her peers, her parents taught her verbal speech a skill rarely needed among their kind. The silent conversations of her people frustrated and alienated her, fueling her desire to leave the village. One day, after witnessing the abilities of a wandering magician, she became inspired and ran away to pursue a new path.

Determined to carve her own future, Roxy became an adventurer to earn money and eventually leave the Demon Continent. She joined the adventurer party “Rikarisu Gang”, which included Dale, Nokopara, and Blaze. However, after Dale’s tragic death, the party disbanded, and Roxy moved on. She later trained under the renowned Bloody Kant, staying with him for a time before receiving a letter of recommendation for Ranoa Magic Academy. Seizing the opportunity, she traveled to Sharia and became a student at the Academy.

During her studies, Roxy reached Advanced Rank in Water Magic and became a Water Saint, under the guidance of Jinas Halfas. However, upon graduating, she left the academy without informing her teacher and ventured into the Asura Kingdom in search of work. Despite her impressive magical abilities, she struggled to find employment, gradually moving toward the kingdom’s border. Just when she was on the verge of giving up, she came across a job request for a Magic Tutor. Without hesitation, she applied and was hired by Paul and Zenith Greyrat to teach their son, Rudeus, marking the beginning of her role as his first and most influential mentor.
