Rito Tsukimi is a former student of Kouryou Academy who became an instructor shortly after her own graduation. Despite her young age, she quickly assumed the role of homeroom teacher for Tōru Kokonoe, Julie Sigtuna, and their classmates. Her rapid transition from student to faculty member reflects both her exceptional mastery of the Blaze system and the trust placed in her by the academy’s leadership.

Rito’s unorthodox personality and teaching style are well known within the academy. Although she often displays a playful or mischievous side, her darker, stricter personality is recognized by Headmistress Sakuya Tsukumo, who nevertheless views it as a valuable method of training. Because of her own experience as a student, Rito is familiar with the challenges faced by new recruits and often pushes them harshly, believing that only through adversity can they unlock their true potential.

In addition to her teaching duties, Rito holds deep knowledge of the Blaze and its secrets, making her an important figure in the academy’s inner workings. Blaze – Whipblade
Initially believed by others to be a traditional Tebutje, Rito’s Blaze is later revealed to be a Whipblade, a rare and highly versatile weapon. Two-thirds of the sword’s body is connected by a steel wire, allowing the weapon to separate into multiple bladed segments. In this form, it functions as both a sword and a whip, giving Rito the ability to strike opponents at varying ranges with speed and unpredictability.

Ouroboros
The true manifestation of Rito’s Blaze is known as Ouroboros. By activating this ability, Rito can detach her Whipblade from its hilt and manipulate it freely in the air. The detached blades spin around her targets, often forming ring-like patterns that trap or overwhelm opponents. She can summon and control multiple blades simultaneously, using them offensively to strike from different directions or defensively to intercept incoming attacks. Notably, Rito employed this ability to deflect a powerful laser from K’s Destruction, a blast strong enough to annihilate the academy’s dormitory, showcasing both the offensive and defensive potential of her weapon.

Tooru Kokonoe
During the academy’s first combat exercise, Rito faced Tōru and Julie as part of their training. Despite her position as their instructor, she was unexpectedly overpowered and rendered unconscious by the combined efforts of the duo. The encounter left a strong impression on her, not only because of the defeat but also due to the determination and potential she witnessed in Tōru. Over time, this respect developed into a quiet admiration, as she became intrigued by his strength, perseverance, and the bond he shared with Julie. Although she maintains her role as a teacher, hints of a subtle affection toward Tōru suggest that she sees him as more than just a student.

Sakuya Tsukumo
Rito serves as a loyal ally to Sakuya Tsukumo, the headmistress of Kouryou Academy. Alongside Mikuni, she supports Sakuya’s ambitions and acts as a trusted confidante in matters related to the academy and the secrets of Blaze. Her involvement extends to the mysterious project known as Blaze Diabolica, where she plays an active role in advancing Sakuya’s objectives.
