A former adventurer and princess of Loggervia, she later settles in the frontier town of Zoltan, where she becomes the partner and eventual wife of Red (Gideon Ragnason). Appearance in Anime

Rit is a former B-rank adventurer who eventually retires to the frontier settlement of Zoltan. Having once traveled alongside Gideon Ragnason, she maintained a strong regard for him even after their paths diverged. When she later heard rumors from the local Adventurers’ Guild about a man named “Red” opening a pharmacy, she suspected it might be Gideon living under a new name. Curious, she visited his shop and confirmed his identity.

Choosing to remain by his side, Rit moved in with Red and began assisting him with both daily life and the management of the apothecary. Despite persistent efforts from other adventurers to persuade her to return to the field, she firmly declared her intention to devote herself to working with Red and building a life together in Zoltan.

Appearance

Rit is portrayed as a young woman with long blonde hair and blue eyes, often described as attractive and possessing a voluptuous figure. She is noticeably shorter than Red, giving her a more delicate contrast to his stature.

Her usual attire consists of a white and red short dress paired with long stockings, a style that emphasizes both practicality and elegance befitting her background as a former adventurer. In more casual or private settings, she is shown wearing light pink and white long-sleeved pajamas when sleeping, reflecting her softer and domestic side after settling in Zoltan.

Personality

Rit is characterized as a cheerful and warm-hearted individual, displaying a lighthearted and optimistic outlook on life. She shares a deep and affectionate bond with Red, with their relationship serving as a cornerstone of her personal growth.

In her earlier years, Rit was known to be assertive and quick-tempered, shaped by her experiences as both a princess and an adventurer. However, after reuniting with Red and choosing a quieter life in Zoltan, she gradually adopted a more peaceful and considerate outlook, finding fulfillment in supporting him and building a shared future.

Despite her gentler nature, Rit retains a fiery temper when provoked. She is fiercely protective of Red, as shown when she confronted Albert with overwhelming hostility and killing intent after he threatened him. This balance between tenderness and ferocity highlights her devotion, as well as her ability to shift between compassion and strength depending on the situation.

Abilities

As a former B-rank adventurer, Rit possesses a diverse set of combat and support abilities that reflect both her training and natural talent.

Stealth
Rit is highly skilled in stealth techniques, allowing her to move undetected even in sensitive environments. She has used this ability in combat to ambush enemies, as well as in everyday situations, such as approaching Red in a bath without disturbing the water.

Healing Magic
Rit is capable of casting basic healing spells, enabling her to mend wounds and provide support to allies during battle.

Purification
She can perform purification spells, demonstrated when she cleansed herself after a skirmish with bandits in which she was rescued by Danan.

Physical Strength
Rit has exhibited notable strength, able to break Albert’s sword with a single strike of her cutlass blades and even kill a goblin with one powerful kick.

Swordsmanship
An accomplished swordswoman, Rit wields her cutlass blades with precision and force. Her skill is highlighted during her duel with Albert, where she effortlessly destroyed his weapon in combat.

Relationships

Red – Red is Rit’s husband and closest companion. Their relationship began with playful banter, during which Rit often reacted with irritation to his teasing. Encouraged by Yarandrala to be more open with her feelings, Rit eventually realized her true affection for Red and confessed her love, which he immediately reciprocated, having already fallen for her since their first meeting.

Choosing to remain by his side, Rit gave up her career as an adventurer to help run his herb shop in Zoltan, insisting that no offer could convince her to return to her former life. She also declared that if Red were ever driven out of town, she would follow him without hesitation. Over time, their bond deepened as they lived together, sharing moments of intimacy and trust. When Ruti arrived at their shop, Rit fully supported Red’s decision to shelter her and keep her identity secret. Later, when Ares Srowa attempted to kill Red, Rit fought alongside him, showing no sympathy for Ares’s death after his betrayal.

Ruti Ragnason – Rit develops a strong friendship with Ruti, Red’s younger sister. Despite the complicated dynamic created by Ruti’s hidden romantic feelings toward her brother, Rit genuinely cares for her and treats her as both family and a best friend. Their bond grows stronger throughout the series, especially after Ruti chooses to leave behind her role as the Hero and stay in Zoltan with them.

Ares Srowa – Rit and Ares were frequently at odds due to his arrogance and his harsh treatment of Red. She openly despised him for his behavior, and after his betrayal of the Hero’s Party and attempted murder of Red, she regarded his death without sympathy, believing he received justice for his actions.

Legacy

Rit’s character represents one of the central themes of Banished from the Hero’s Party—the pursuit of happiness beyond heroism and destiny. Once a princess and adventurer, her decision to step away from political duties and adventuring life to remain with Red reflects the series’ emphasis on personal choice over societal expectations.

Her relationship with Red is regarded as one of the narrative’s most defining aspects, shaping much of his development and reinforcing the series’ quieter, slice-of-life elements in contrast to its action-driven storylines. Together, the pair symbolize the possibility of finding fulfillment in ordinary life, even after stepping away from the grandeur of heroic quests.

In fan reception, Rit is frequently noted for her balance of strength and tenderness, as well as her protective devotion to Red. Her presence softens the tone of the story while also reinforcing its central message that peace, companionship, and personal happiness can be more meaningful than glory or power.

Trivia

    • Rit’s birthday is on March 3.
      • As she is not the first princess of Loggervia, Rit does not feel pressured by royal obligations and is unconcerned about remaining with Red in Zoltan. Regardless, any children they might have would still possess a legitimate claim to the throne.
        • Throughout much of the series, Rit frequently attempts to advance her romantic relationship with Red, though their moments together are often interrupted.
