Risa Shiramine

Risa Shiramine (白峯理沙, Shiramine Risa), known in-game as Sally (サリー, Sarī), is one of the main characters in BOFURI. She is Kaede Honjou’s best friend and the one who introduced her to NewWorld Online, though she initially couldn’t join due to her mother’s restrictions.

A highly skilled gamer, Risa has a long list of achievements and excels in the swashbuckler class, where her reflexes and AGI are considered exceptional. She co-founded the Maple Tree guild with Maple and later entrusted Maple with the role of guild master.

Risa has ash-brown hair and eyes, and in the real world she’s often seen in casual or sleepwear with her hair down, usually tied with a white ribbon. Her in-game avatar, Sally, looks identical to her real appearance.

Sally’s outfit features a gray turtleneck, silver breastplate, and a gray coat with blue accents, paired with short jeans, high dark-gray boots, and blue-striped socks. She also wears a blue scarf and wields two ornate daggers. The design of her gear emphasizes speed and mobility.

Risa is one of the youngest and shortest members of Maple Tree, standing just an inch taller than Kaede.

Personality

Sally is extroverted, cautious, and practical, using her past gaming experience to make smart decisions. She also has a creative and mischievous side, choosing the swashbuckler class so she and Maple could avoid taking damage in unconventional ways.

Although Sally is easily scared by ghosts and anything horror-related, she becomes fierce and competitive in PvP, even hunting players aggressively for event rewards. She loves sports, has excellent reflexes, and is a skilled swimmer both in and out of the game.

History

Risa is the one who introduced Maple to NewWorld Online, encouraging her to play even though she couldn’t join right away due to a real-world test. A seasoned gamer with a collection of championship awards, Risa helped Maple plan her class choice before either of them entered the game. While they considered magic or small-shield builds, Risa ultimately chose Twin Blades as her preferred weapon.

She became infamous during the second event for the red moon massacre, relentlessly hunting players to steal silver medals. Before the third event, she dueled Frederica and convinced her that Attack Guidance and Running Water were her real skills. After fighting Dread, Risa refined her evasion style by adopting his instinct-driven, fear-based approach.
