Quetzalcoatl

Quetzalcoatl (ケツァルコアトル, Ketsarukoatoru), often referred to as Lucoa (ルコア, Rukoa), is a supporting character in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid and the titular protagonist of its spin-off series. She is a former dragon goddess and an old friend of Tohru. Lucoa was exiled from her position as a goddess after consuming cursed liquor, which led to a scandalous affair that tarnished her reputation.

I don’t like fighting… I’ll just run away and act like nothing happened.

Full Appearance in Anime

In her human form, Lucoa is a tall, fair-skinned woman with an hourglass figure. She has long, wavy blonde hair that transitions to turquoise and green at the ends in the anime. She has heterochromia: her left eye is navy blue on the outside with a yellow interior and a green slit pupil, while her right eye is green with designs on the outside and black with a yellow slit pupil inside. Despite this, she often keeps her eyes closed.

Like Tohru, Lucoa retains her horns but hides her tail. When she first arrives at Kobayashi’s home, she wears a pink cap, choker, and necklace (manga only), a black tank top (anime covers her stomach), jean booty shorts, thigh-high black stockings, and pink sneakers. Her outfit is revealing and emphasizes her large breasts, which sometimes distract those around her.

Her dragon form is a massive “amphithere” with broad feathered wings and a mask-like skull, and she refers to herself as a “Feathered Serpent.” She is one of the largest dragons depicted.

Personality

Lucoa is relaxed, carefree, and almost always smiling, showing a kindness and nurturing side despite her flirtatious tendencies. She often offers guidance to younger dragons, using her experience and wisdom.

Although she understands human customs well, Lucoa lacks a strong sense of dignity and does not hesitate to use her body to achieve her goals, as seen when she attempts to charm Shouta. She frequently wears revealing clothing and displays her sensual body, drawing comparisons to a succubus by Shouta and other dragons.

Lucoa is generally non-confrontational and avoids conflicts, often fleeing from dangerous situations and acting indifferent afterward. She remains self-aware of this tendency but shows no intention of changing it.

Background

Lucoa is a former goddess who lost her divinity after consuming cursed liquor, which led to a scandalous affair with her sister Quetzalpetlatl. Despite no longer holding godly status, she claims responsibility for the development of civilization.

She now lives in the Magatsuchi household as Shouta’s familiar, maintaining her carefree, flirtatious, and nurturing personality while interacting with humans and dragons alike.
