Philuffy Aingram’s Appearance in Anime

Philuffy Aingram was born the second daughter of the Aingram Financial Conglomerate, a powerful mercantile house. Her elder sister, Relie Aingram, would later become the principal of the Royal Officer Academy.

Seven years prior to the main story, the Aingram family was affiliated with the Old Arcadia Empire. During this time, Philuffy and Relie were introduced to Lux Arcadia, a member of the imperial family and the son of a family friend of their mother. Initially, Philuffy and Lux did not get along, as she was reserved and rarely expressed emotion.

Their relationship began to change following an incident involving Lux’s half-brother Abel Arcadia and his friend Ragreed Forus. The two damaged a valuable statue and attempted to frame Philuffy by luring her into colliding with it. Lux intervened by taking the blame himself, which prompted Philuffy to recognize the truth when she noticed oil from the statue on Abel and Ragreed’s hands. Afterward, she told Lux not to apologize for something he had not done and offered him a cookie as a token of gratitude. This moment marked the start of their friendship, with Philuffy affectionately calling him “Lu-chan” and asking him to call her “Phi-chan.”

Later, Philuffy was selected by Hayes Vi Arcadia as a subject for an experiment designed to fuse humans with Abyss. She was taken to a facility on Ries Island, where a seed of the Ragnarok Yggdrasil, called Ratatoskr, was implanted in her. The procedure left her in a state resembling death. Lux, upon finding her lifeless body, was devastated, though Fugil Arcadia erased his memories of the event. Shortly after, Sacred Eclipse injected Philuffy with Elixir, reviving her after several days. However, because Ratatoskr remained inside her, Philuffy became part-Abyss. As Abyss hybrids were considered threats under New Kingdom law, Relie concealed this fact and arranged for her to be trained in martial arts by Magialca Zen Vanfrick, helping Philuffy gain control over her strength.

Appearance

Philuffy is depicted as a beautiful young woman with pink hair, worn at shoulder to upper-back length and typically tied into pigtails with black ribbons. She has golden eyes and a youthful, childlike face, which contrasts with her well-endowed figure, giving her what is described as a “mysterious charm.” Her appearance closely resembles that of her older sister, Relie Aingram.

Personality

Philuffy is portrayed as a gentle and easy-going girl who often struggles to express her emotions openly. She exudes an absent-minded air, which sometimes leads others to underestimate her. Despite this, she is honest, determined, and possesses a strong will, rarely backing down once she has made a decision. Her calm, steady nature makes her difficult to argue with, a trait experienced firsthand by both Lux Arcadia and her sister Relie Aingram. Philuffy occasionally uses this quality to her advantage, such as when she threatened to “hate” Relie if she did something she disliked or when she outwitted merchants attempting to cheat her.

She has a fondness for food, particularly sweets, and often spends her free time eating. This weakness is sometimes exploited by others, as when Lisesharte Atismata bribed her with honeyed bread or Relie lured her with the promise of cake.

Philuffy shares a particularly close bond with Lux, her childhood friend, whom she affectionately calls “Lu-chan,” insisting that he call her “Phi-chan” in return. She becomes sulky or distant when he does not use her preferred nickname. Unlike many of her peers, Philuffy shows little embarrassment in intimate situations, even when she and Lux are alone together or in close contact.

Abilities

Although her gentle appearance suggests otherwise, Philuffy is one of the most formidable Drag-Knights in the Royal Officer Academy, combining her hybrid nature with extensive training to become a highly capable fighter.

    • Ratatoskr: As a result of the Old Empire’s experiments, Philuffy became a human-Abyss hybrid after a seed of the Ragnarok Yggdrasil was implanted in her. This granted her superhuman strength and heightened senses but also made her vulnerable to the Abyss-controlling power of horn flutes. With training, she developed resistance to this weakness, and after undergoing Baptism, she was able to safely remove Ratatoskr from her body.
    • Enhanced Olfactory Sense: Her hybridization gave her an exceptionally acute sense of smell, sharp enough to differentiate between various metal alloys.
    • B-Blood Wyvern: Philuffy can extend the Abyss seed’s power not only to herself but also to her Drag-Ride, drastically amplifying their combat capabilities. In this state, she is powerful enough to confront Drag-Rides barehanded. However, this transformation can be forcibly canceled through the use of a horn flute.
    • Expert Martial Artist: Trained by Magialca Zen Vanfrick, captain of the Seven Dragon Paladins, Philuffy developed into a highly skilled martial artist. Combined with her enhanced strength, her techniques make her close-range combat especially devastating.
    • Baptism: Philuffy has undergone Baptism twice. She was first resurrected by Sacred Eclipse, which heightened her physical abilities, and later underwent Baptism under Queen Raffi Atismata. This second ritual allowed her to fully regulate her bodily functions, suppress sensory input when necessary, and utilize End Action. It also enabled her to safely remove Ratatoskr.
    • Subtle Manipulation: Despite her quiet and gentle nature, Philuffy has shown a talent for subtly manipulating others, often guilt-tripping Lux or pressuring merchants into concessions when she catches them cheating.

Typhon
Philuffy’s exclusive Divine Drag-Ride is Typhon, a wyrm-type Drag-Ride notable for its destructive power and specialized weaponry.

    • Passcode: ─Activate. The starbreaker, the ultimate piercer, the giant god-slaying dragon. Unleash the hundred-headed fangs and slay the almighty, Typhon.”
    • Pile Anchor (竜咬縛鎖, Pairu Ankā, lit. “Dragon Bite Chain”): Launches multiple cables tipped with anchors that latch onto targets.
    • Biting Flare (竜咬爆火, Baitingu Furea, lit. “Dragon Bite Explosion”): A follow-up to Pile Anchor, in which the anchors open upon impact to release an explosive burst of energy.
    • Missing Faith (無情の果実, Misshingu Feito, lit. “Heartless Fruit”): Typhon’s Divine Raiment, which generates a black surge that nullifies other Divine Raiments and reduces the output of surrounding Drag-Rides.

Relationships

Lux Arcadia
Philuffy has loved Lux since childhood, when the Aingram family was associated with the Old Arcadia Empire. Their bond developed through frequent play, and they gave each other affectionate nicknames, with Philuffy calling him “Lu” and insisting he call her “Phi.”
When they were reunited years later at the Royal Officer Academy, Philuffy’s attachment resurfaced quickly. She refused to respond to Lux until he addressed her by her nickname, which delighted her. She is also shown to be possessive and protective of him, such as when she confronted Lisesharte after she bluntly revealed Lux had seen her naked. In another instance, during a contest arranged by Relie Aingram, Philuffy ambushed Lux and placed him in a playful submission hold in an effort to win.
Due to their closeness, Philuffy shows little modesty around Lux, often sharing a room or even a bed with him without embarrassment. While her affection can sometimes overwhelm him, Lux genuinely cares for Philuffy and values their bond. Her importance to him was a driving factor in his decision to take part in the rebellion that led to the downfall of the Arcadia Empire.

Airi Arcadia
Through her close connection to Lux, Philuffy became acquainted with Airi Arcadia prior to the fall of the Old Empire. Their relationship is portrayed as cordial and friendly.

Relie Aingram
Philuffy maintains a supportive relationship with her older sister Relie, despite their contrasting personalities. Relie often teases her younger sister, occasionally bribing her with sweets to persuade her into doing tasks. Beneath her playful side, Relie cares deeply for Philuffy and became particularly protective after Philuffy was subjected to the Old Empire’s experiments. Although Philuffy survived due to those same procedures, Relie remained committed to safeguarding her well-being.
