Ö3 Austria Top 40
Ö3 Austria Top 40 is the official Austrian singles chart, and it is also the name of the radio show that presents it. The show airs on Fridays on Hitradio Ö3. It showcases the Austrian singles, ringtones, and downloads chart. The program originally premiered on 26 November 1968 under the name “Disc Parade” and was presented by Ernst Grissemann. It’s worth noting that while online versions of the chart at charts.orf.at and austriancharts.at still list 75 top positions and are known by various outlets and presentations as “Ö3 Austria Top 75,” charts.orf.at still labels itself as “Ö3 Austria Top 40.” Broadcast versions of the chart typically only quote the top 40 positions, with the remaining positions 41 to 75 considered as “bubbling under.” This discrepancy between the online and broadcast versions of the chart may cause some confusion among listeners and viewers.
