  As the police investigation intensifies, Nine takes on a more direct role, hacking into government databases and uncovering hidden files on Project Athena. However, their actions attract the attention of Five, a fellow survivor of the experiments who now works for the U.S. government. Nine and Five engage in a battle of wits, with Nine desperately trying to outmaneuver her while protecting Twelve and Lisa. However, as Five’s pursuit escalates, Nine is forced to confront his past and the consequences of his actions.

• The Final Stand
  In the climax of the series, Nine reveals the truth behind Project Athena to the world, exposing the government’s inhumane experiments. However, by this point, he is suffering from severe health deterioration, a delayed side effect of the experiments. Despite his declining health, Nine achieves his mission, ensuring that the world acknowledges the suffering of the forgotten children. However, in a tragic turn, he is ultimately captured and executed by the Japanese authorities, making the ultimate sacrifice for his cause.
