Appearance in Anime

At first, Nana appears to have a cold and rough personality, often maintaining a blunt and aloof attitude. However, as the series progresses, her kind and caring nature becomes more apparent. She shows compassion toward her junior, Linda, offering support when needed. Similarly, she demonstrates concern for Banri Tada, as seen when she takes him to the hospital after he falls ill with a fever.

Nana also dislikes seeing people who are uncertain or hesitant, often expressing frustration toward those who waver in their decisions. Despite her tough exterior, she is ultimately a considerate and supportive individual.

Appearance

As a rock band vocalist, Nana typically dresses in punk-inspired clothing and is often seen carrying an electric guitar on her back. Even when dressed more casually, she incorporates elements of her rock aesthetic, such as wearing band t-shirts.

She is known for her bold and striking appearance, often wearing heavy makeup, which includes dark gray eyeshadow, deep burgundy lipstick, and black nail polish. Her distinct style reinforces her strong and rebellious personality.

History

Nana was formerly a member of the Japanese Culture Festival Research Society. However, she eventually left the club due to her growing commitments to her band, prioritizing her music career over club activities.

Relationships

Linda (Rinda Hayashida)
Nana was Linda’s senior in the Japanese Culture Festival Research Society. Although they don’t interact frequently, Nana supports Linda when necessary.

Banri Tada
While not particularly close, Nana helps Banri when he is in need, showing unexpected moments of kindness and concern.

Legacy

Nana-senpai’s strong personality, punk-rock aesthetic, and hidden kindness make her a standout supporting character in Golden Time. She serves as a mentor figure, an unexpected source of wisdom, and a symbol of independence and self-expression.

While she may not play a major role in the central romance, her impact on Linda, Banri, and other characters ensures that she remains a memorable and significant presence in the series.

Trivia

    • Nana appears to be heavily inspired by Nana Osaki, one of the protagonists from the romance manga NANA, alongside Nana Komatsu.
    • The similarities between the two characters include their punk-inspired appearance, blunt yet kind personality, and roles as vocalists for rock bands. Additionally, Nana’s band in Golden Time is called BLAST, which shares its name with Black Stones (BLAST), the band led by Nana Osaki in NANA.
    • However, there has been no official confirmation from the authors of Golden Time or NANA regarding any direct connection between the two characters.
