Mitsuyoshi Anzai

Mitsuyoshi Anzai (安西 光義, Anzai Mitsuyoshi) is the coach of the Shohoku High School basketball team and is widely regarded as one of Japan’s top coaches. Known for his calm demeanor, he is respected by other coaches, who often refer to him as “Anzai-sensei.”

Personality

Anzai is patient, wise, and supportive. His calm nature helps bring out the best in his players. However, his reputation as the “White-Haired Devil” comes from his previous coaching days, where he was much more demanding and strict. Over the years, he mellowed, becoming the calm and collected mentor we see today.
