Majin Buu

Majin Buu(魔人ブウ,Majin Bū, lit. “Demon Person Boo”) is one of the most complex and multifaceted antagonists in theDragon Ballfranchise, existing in a variety of forms, each with its own distinct personality, goals, and power level. While all forms are referred to as “Majin Buu” within the series, they possess radically different traits, and many have been named individually through variousDragon Ball Zvideo games, which helped to popularize their common names and differentiate them in the eyes of fans.

Good Boo

  • Kid Buu: The original and purest form of Majin Buu. Known for his chaotic and destructive tendencies, Kid Buu is portrayed as the most primal and dangerous version of Buu, untainted by the absorption of others. His unpredictable behavior and immense power make him a major threat in the series.

  • Future Kid Buu: A future counterpart of Kid Buu from theShin Budokai – Another Roadtimeline. Like his main timeline counterpart, Future Kid Buu is ruthless and serves as a major antagonist in alternate future scenarios.

  • Xeno Majin Buu: An alternate-world counterpart of Kid Buu, from an unknown timeline within theDragon Ball Heroesuniverse. Xeno Buu plays a role in alternative and non-canonical storylines outside of the main series.

  • Clone Kid Buu: A replica of Kid Buu created by Android 21 inDragon Ball FighterZ. This clone is one of many artificial creations designed for combat, embodying Kid Buu’s destructive tendencies.

  • Huge Buu: This form occurs when Kid Buu absorbs South Supreme Kai, one of the most powerful Supreme Kai. As Huge Buu, he gains a bulkier, more muscular physique and a higher power level, representing a significant transformation from his smaller, more chaotic form.

  • Innocent Buu: This is the first form of Buu to appear on-screen in the anime. Innocent Buu is created when Kid Buu absorbs the Grand Supreme Kai. He retains the playful and childlike innocence of the Kai but is still prone to bursts of destructive rage. Innocent Buu’s form is later split into two beings—Good Buu and Evil Buu—after Buu expels the evil within him.

  • Good Buu: The result of Innocent Buu expelling all of his evil. Good Buu is identical in appearance to Innocent Buu but is a completely different entity. He embodies the pure good left within Majin Buu. According toDragon Ball Online, Good Buu later splits into two separate beings: Mr. Buu and Miss Buu, who create an entire Majin race.

  • Mr. Buu: The male result of Good Buu splitting, creating a male version of the Majin race. Mr. Buu retains Good Buu’s peaceful nature and settles into a quieter life, even becoming a member of the Z Fighters.

  • Majin Buu’s various forms are not just a reflection of his physical transformations, but also represent the complex and shifting nature of his personality. Whether as the chaotic and primal Kid Buu or the more compassionate Good Buu, each version of Majin Buu plays a unique role in theDragon Ballsaga, contributing to the character’s legacy as one of the most iconic and versatile villains in anime.

  • Miss Buu: The female counterpart to Mr. Buu, created after Good Buu splits. Together with Mr. Buu, Miss Buu is responsible for establishing the foundation of the Majin race in the lore ofDragon Ball Online.

  • Evil Buu: This dark, emaciated version of Buu is created when Innocent Buu expels all of his evil in physical form. Evil Buu is a manifestation of pure malice, and he quickly proves to be much more dangerous than Innocent Buu.

  • Super Buu: After Evil Buu absorbs Good Buu, he transforms into Super Buu. This form is far more intelligent and cunning than Innocent Buu, possessing a significant increase in power. Super Buu becomes a major antagonist, absorbing several Z Fighters to increase his strength and creating some of the most intense battles in the series.

  • Future Super Buu: A future counterpart of Super Buu inShin Budokai – Another Road. This version of Super Buu exists in an alternate future and has similar ambitions and powers to his main timeline counterpart.

  • Uub: The human reincarnation of Kid Buu. Uub represents the good that was left after Kid Buu’s destruction. After being reincarnated by King Yemma at Goku’s request, Uub becomes a key ally and is trained by Goku, eventually growing into a powerful fighter who carries the spirit of Buu’s raw potential but with a heroic heart.
