Lyne Mei (リィン=メイ, Ryin Mei; Yen Press: Lynn May) is a secondary female character in Plunderer. She serves as a sergeant responsible for protecting Hoemmh, a settlement located on the side of a hill. Dedicated to her duty, Lyne takes her role as a protector seriously, ensuring the safety of the town and its inhabitants. Throughout the series, she becomes involved in the larger conflicts surrounding the Ballot Holders and the mysteries of Alcia.
Appearance

Lyne Mei while cooking
Lyne Mei has dark brown hair and reddish-brown eyes, with two distinctive light blue strands that poke out from under her hat on either side of her head. Her unique hair color combination makes her stand out among her fellow soldiers.
She wears a military uniform that is notably short, riding up high on her thighs. Due to the nature of her signature combat technique kicking her attire offers little protection for modesty during battle. Despite her slim appearance, Lyne is heavier than she looks, likely due to her brawny physique developed through rigorous training and her enjoyment of food.

Personality
Lyne Mei is an amiable and kind-hearted individual who is always eager to help others. While increasing her Count is a part of her duty, her actions are driven more by genuine goodwill than personal gain. However, her sweet and trusting nature often makes her somewhat gullible, as she is easily misled due to her eagerness to do good.
Despite her generally cheerful and helpful attitude, Lyne has a short temper, especially when someone comments on her weight, a sensitive topic for her. Though she may appear lighthearted, she is a fierce and capable fighter who is unafraid to use physical force when necessary to protect others and fulfill her responsibilities as a soldier. Her strength and determination make her a formidable force on the battlefield, despite her seemingly gentle personality.
Abilities and Power
Lyne Mei possesses impressive combat abilities, primarily focused on physical strength and agility. Her Count initially stands at 410, representing the number of people she has helped, but later increases to 473 as she continues assisting others.
One of her most notable abilities is Power Legs, her signature move. Lyne’s kicks are exceptionally strong, initially capable of breaking trees. After training under Schmelman, she significantly enhances her power, making her kicks strong enough to fracture bones.
In addition to her formidable strength, Lyne also develops superhuman speed. Following Schmelman’s guidance, her training allows her to move at speeds comparable to Licht Bach, as observed by Gespenst. Her combination of agility and devastating kicks makes her a formidable close-combat fighter.
Relationships
Gespenst Zerlegen (Pele Poporo)
Her loyal subordinate and eventual love interest. Initially, she sees him as a timid and somewhat useless assistant, but as his true identity as a Red Baron is revealed, their relationship evolves into a deep bond.
Licht Bach (Rihito Sakai)
At first, Lyne views Licht as a criminal, but as she learns the truth about the Red Barons, she grows to respect him and his sacrifices for the world. Despite this, she is often embarrassed by his perverted antics.
Hina Farrow
They develop a friendly relationship, with Lyne offering guidance and support to Hina as she learns more about Alcia.
Nana Bassler
She looks up to Nana as a wise and experienced figure, sometimes seeking her advice on personal and emotional matters.
Legacy
Lyne Mei’s growth from a loyal soldier to a warrior who questions the system makes her one of the more dynamic characters in Plunderer. Her journey of self-discovery, her dedication to justice, and her evolving relationship with Pele make her a key supporting figure. Whether protecting her town, fighting alongside Licht, or struggling with her newfound understanding of the world, Lyne remains a symbol of strength, loyalty, and personal growth.
