Lelederik (also romanized as Lerederick) is one of the main antagonists in the anime and manga series Shoukoku no Altair. She serves as the Duchess of the Ellvaldez region within the Balt-Rhein Empire. A noble of high status and formidable influence, Lelederik plays a significant role in the empire’s military and political ambitions, often operating from behind the scenes to further Balt-Rhein’s expansionist goals.
Appearance

Appearance in Anime
Lelederik is portrayed as a strikingly beautiful woman, characterized by her hourglass figure, thick eyelashes, and full lips, which she typically accentuates with dark red lipstick to enhance her mature and alluring presence. Despite being the niece of Emperor Goldbalt and holding a noble title, she rarely dresses in traditional gowns or attire befitting her aristocratic status. Instead, she favors more masculine or pragmatic clothing, such as tailored suits and pants, particularly when visiting the imperial capital.
During military campaigns, Lelederik wears a sleek black battle suit designed to highlight her curves while allowing for full mobility. The outfit lacks ornamental armor or heavy embellishments, prioritizing flexibility and agility over defense. She has a diamond-shaped face, a broad forehead, narrow lavender eyes, and thin eyebrows. A distinguishing feature is a small mole located on the left side of her chin. She also has black-painted fingernails.
Her hair is a deep burgundy color, long and wavy, reaching below her left knee. It is typically styled with a center part, adding to her distinctive and commanding appearance.
Personality
Lelederik’s personality is notably unconventional for someone of her noble rank. While capable of displaying grace and refinement when the situation calls for it, she is primarily known for her relentless ambition and formidable presence in both military and political arenas. Her fierce determination and commanding aura set her apart from many of the other female characters in Shoukoku no Altair.
She demonstrates a clear fondness for warfare, often taking pleasure in military campaigns and preferring to lead assaults from the front lines. This, coupled with subtle sadistic tendencies, reflects her appetite for battle and control. Despite her ruthless efficiency, Lelederik possesses a strong sense of charisma, earning the unwavering loyalty of her subordinates.
Rather than treating her troops as expendable pawns, she views them as comrades-in-arms and leads them with a rough but familiar rapport. This mutual respect fosters a deep patriotism among the soldiers of Ellvaldez, who show exceptional devotion to both their homeland and to Lelederik as their commander.
Abilities
Lelederik is considered one of the more formidable characters in Shoukoku no Altair, known for her preference to fight on the front lines rather than command from a distance. Her combat style emphasizes agility and precision, supported by her physically flexible build and strategic use of lightweight attire
She wields a kukri, a curved blade that she uses with deadly efficiency. Her fighting technique is built around swift, decisive strikes often aiming to eliminate opponents with a single, well-placed blow. Her battlefield prowess, combined with her fearless leadership, cements her reputation as both a capable warrior and an inspiring commander.
Relationships
Emperor Goldbalt XI
Lelederik is the niece of Emperor Goldbalt XI of the Balt-Rhein Empire. Despite her high birth and proximity to power, she forgoes the traditional trappings of nobility in favor of a more militaristic and pragmatic lifestyle. Her close familial ties to the emperor place her third in the line of imperial succession, behind his sons, Günther and Gustav.
Günther and Gustav
Lelederik’s cousins, Günther and Gustav, are the sons of Emperor Goldbalt XI and rank ahead of her in the line of succession. While not much is shown of her personal relationship with them, her political position as a potential heir suggests underlying tensions and rivalry within the imperial family’s power structure.
Ellvaldez Troops
Lelederik shares a unique bond with the soldiers under her command in the Ellvaldez region. Unlike many noble commanders, she treats her subordinates as comrades rather than disposable pawns. This approach earns her the deep respect and loyalty of her troops, all of whom express strong patriotism toward their homeland. Her charismatic leadership and hands-on combat style further reinforce this mutual trust.
