Kureto Hīragi is a tall, young man with a commanding presence. He has short black hair that is styled in a neat, angular cut, complemented by small reddish-brown eyes. His thick eyebrows zigzag upward at the ends, giving him a sharp, authoritative look. Kureto’s uniform is that of a high-ranking officer in the Japanese Imperial Demon Army (JIDA), and it reflects both his status and discipline.

His uniform consists of a black tailcoat, detailed with red accents on the interior around his legs. The tailcoat features gold trim and aiguillettes on the right shoulder, where a crescent moon decoration adds a distinctive touch. Two rows of gold buttons run down the front, emphasizing the elegance of his attire. Kureto also wears white gloves, a three-striped black-and-white armband on his left arm, and a white web belt with a gold waist-plate. Personality

Kureto Hīragi is a cold, calculating individual, known for his calm demeanor in the face of violence and his ability to use brutality to manipulate and control those around him. He is indifferent to the suffering of others, often using torture to extract information or assert his authority. His casual attitude toward the brutal murder of Yu’s family is a clear example of his emotional detachment and his belief in using violence as a tool to maintain control. Kureto’s pragmatism leads him to view violence not as a necessary evil but as an efficient means to an end, even when it involves sacrificing his own subordinates.

He is highly strategic and methodical, often asking questions not out of curiosity but to confirm his suspicions, whether rational or paranoid. For example, he carefully interrogates Guren, methodically listing names before asking specific questions to gather the information he needs. This calculated approach allows him to remain several steps ahead of others, even when dealing with potentially dangerous situations.

Despite his ruthlessness, Kureto is not devoid of recognition for competence. He offers praise when it is earned, acknowledging Guren’s success in finding more black demon prospects and applauding the efforts of the Moon Demon Company in targeting vampire nobles. However, his praise is often hollow, serving more as a tool to maintain control over his subordinates rather than genuine admiration. His praise comes with little expectation of reward, as he is quick to discard those who no longer serve his purpose.

Kureto is highly critical of Guren and the Moon Demon Company, viewing them as subordinate and beneath him. He believes his family’s control over the Demon Army makes them the superior force, and he takes great pride in his power. While he is willing to engage in battle if necessary, he prefers to remain behind the scenes, directing others to carry out his will. However, when faced with a serious threat, such as a seraph, Kureto is not hesitant to step in and deal with it personally.

His ultimate goal is the complete eradication of vampires in Japan, and he is willing to sacrifice anything and anyone to achieve this. Kureto views the Hīragi family as the rightful rulers of Japan, and he aims to consolidate power, eliminating any threat to their dominance, whether from vampires, human organizations, or even divine forces. He is unwavering in his belief that humanity, under his leadership, will prevail against all enemies, no matter how powerful they may be.

Role in the Story

Kureto plays a pivotal role in preventing a vampire invasion from overwhelming the city of Shinjuku. His timely arrival with reinforcements underscores his capability as a military leader and his commitment to eradicating vampire threats.

Following the Shinjuku incident, Kureto initiates plans to expand human dominance over the remaining survivors and fortify the Japanese Imperial Demon Army’s control. His strategy involves exterminating all vampires in Japan, solidifying his reputation as a relentless and ambitious leader.

As a member of the prestigious Hīragi family, Kureto is privy to the secretive and controversial Seraph of the End experiments, which utilize humans as subjects. His willingness to use these experiments demonstrates his pragmatism and willingness to cross moral boundaries for power and control.

Powers and Abilities

Kureto Hīragi is a powerful fighter who wields a katana named Raimeiki, which grants him the ability to generate and manipulate electricity. His sword allows him to produce powerful surges of lightning, enabling him to deal massive damage in both close and ranged combat. The electricity from his blade can wreak havoc on infrastructure and even knock down powerful beings, such as a seraph, from mid-air. In close combat, the electrical energy continues to surge through the blade, enhancing Kureto’s strikes with deadly power.

Raimeiki also allows Kureto to launch ranged attacks by firing bolts of lightning at high speed, capable of disrupting and knocking off-course opponents, particularly those in the air. Unlike in the manga, Kureto can use his lightning to strike from a distance with remarkable precision. When facing a more formidable opponent, like Yu in Seraph Mode, Kureto’s lightning abilities can temporarily keep them at bay. In one instance, Kureto summoned a bolt of lightning to strike Yu, causing him to fall, though it had little lasting effect on the seraph’s resilience.

In addition to his electrical attacks, Kureto can also enhance his physical strength by channeling electricity into his body. This allows him to match or even surpass the strength of superhuman opponents, such as Yu in his Seraph Mode. With these abilities, Kureto proves to be an overwhelming adversary, capable of using both his lightning-infused sword and enhanced physical power to challenge even the most powerful enemies.
