He cared deeply for his human mother, Shiori Minamino, whose love and support played a significant role in his acceptance of his human side. When Shiori fell gravely ill, Kurama made a deal with Hiei and Gouki to steal the Forlorn Hope, a mystical mirror, intending to sacrifice himself to save her life. This act of selflessness marked a turning point in his journey, solidifying his role as an ally to Yusuke Urameshi and the Human World.
