Kouki Amanogawa (天之河 光輝, Amanogawa Kōki), is a major supporting character in the light novel, anime, and manga series Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest. He is one of the high school students from modern-day Japan who were summoned to the fantasy world of Tortus, where he was granted the rare and prestigious title of “Hero”. Due to his charisma, moral ideals, and sense of justice, Kouki is often seen as the leader figure among his classmates.
Kouki serves as both an ally and ideological foil to the protagonist, Hajime Nagumo, as their beliefs and paths diverge dramatically after their arrival in Tortus. While he means well, Kouki tends to impose his ideals on others, and he struggles to understand those who operate with different values particularly Hajime. Over time, Kouki becomes increasingly jealous and frustrated as he realizes the limits of his power and influence, leading to moments of internal crisis and character development.

The Summoning and Hero’s Burden: Upon arrival in Tortus, Kouki is granted the Hero class, quickly becoming the de facto leader among his peers. He undergoes training at the Heiligh Kingdom to prepare for the battle against the Demon Race, believing it is his duty to protect everyone.
Conflict with Hajime: Kouki’s path diverges from Hajime Nagumo after the latter’s fall and transformation in the Orcus Labyrinth. As Hajime becomes stronger and more pragmatic, Kouki finds himself at odds with Hajime’s methods and attitude.
