Kirukiru Amou

Kirukiru Amou (天羽 斬々, Amō Kirukiru) is one of the primary antagonists in the anime and manga series Armed Girl’s Machiavellism. A formidable and violent fighter, she was transferred to the Private Aichi Symbiosis Academy following her involvement in a massive brawl. Her unmatched strength and ruthless combat style quickly earned her the feared title of “Empress” (Enpuresu) within the academy.

Appearance in Anime

Before her transfer to the Private Aichi Symbiosis Academy, Kirukiru Amou encountered Fudou Nomura in battle. Their clash left Nomura severely injured and hospitalized, establishing her as one of the few fighters capable of overwhelming him.

After enrolling at Aichi, Amou quickly demonstrated her dominance by single-handedly defeating two members of the Supreme Five Swords, Rin Onigawara and Mary Kikakujou. This feat earned her the title of “Empress”, symbolizing her superiority and fearsome reputation within the academy.

Amou’s connection with Nomura is deeply personal and complex. She confessed her desire for him to “become her man,” though he rejected her advances. In retaliation, she struck him, leaving a lasting scar across his back. Despite her violent behavior, she also developed strong romantic feelings for him, stemming from their past together. Her jealousy was particularly evident when she saw Nomura kissed by Rin, a moment that fueled her hostility and possessiveness.

Ultimately, Amou’s destructive actions at Aichi led to her transfer to Hokkai Academy as punishment. Before leaving, she kissed Nomura, an act that left him conflicted and hinted at lingering feelings toward her. This was further suggested in the OVA, where Nomura, when prompted to choose one of the Five Swords for a hot spring outing, instead dreamed of Amou.

Appearance

Kirukiru Amou is depicted as a strikingly beautiful young woman with a curvaceous figure, long black hair that flows down to her knees, and deep dark brown eyes. She is most often seen in the Aichi Symbiosis Academy uniform, which includes a cropped blue blazer, an off-white dress shirt, a matching blue skirt, and a red tie. She completes the outfit with stockings and black boots, emphasizing her commanding and intimidating presence.

Outside of her school attire, Amou has been shown in a more casual outfit consisting of a short-sleeved purple shirt cinched with a purple belt, paired with a long white skirt that reaches just above her knees. Even in casual dress, she retains her stockings, maintaining a sense of elegance and consistency in her style.

Personality

Kirukiru Amou is portrayed as a violent and obsessive individual, often described as having a personality akin to that of a yandere. Her actions are largely driven by her fixation on Fudou Nomura, her former friend and rival, whom she desires to claim exclusively for herself. This obsession fuels her hostility toward anyone she perceives as a threat to their connection, and she has shown herself willing to harm or even kill others to eliminate competition.

Amou demonstrates a cruel and condescending nature, treating those she considers weaker with disdain. She possesses an overwhelming need to dominate others, both in combat and in personal relationships. Her compulsion for control contributes to her obsession with Nomura, whose refusal to submit to her authority frustrates and fascinates her in equal measure. This dynamic makes her both one of his most dangerous adversaries and a character whose motivations are deeply entangled with her feelings for him.

Abilities and Powers

Master Martial Artist
Amou is a master of Uechi-ryū Karate, using it to deliver strikes with lethal precision and overwhelming force. Her blows are strong enough to tear flesh, break weapons, and kill opponents—or even beasts like Kyōbo with ease. She demonstrated this power by effortlessly defeating four of the Supreme Five Swords and grievously injuring Fudou Nomura in the past, leaving him hospitalized.

Auto-Counter
Amou’s signature technique involves hardening her fingers to slash, stab, or intercept an opponent’s attack before they can react. This ability functions as both a counter and a preemptive strike, making her nearly untouchable in close combat. Variations of the technique include:

  • Pickaxe Fist: A stabbing strike with bent fingers resembling a pickaxe.
    • Tiger’s Claws: A slashing strike with fingers posed like claws.
      • Spread Fingers: A stabbing attack executed with splayed fingers.
        • Four-Speared Hands: A piercing strike that drives her fingers forward with enough power to punch through a thick magazine.
          • Gouging Fist: A piercing attack whose form is less defined, designed for brutal puncturing strikes.
            • Curbing Strike: A stabbing thrust aimed directly at the opponent, used against Nomura but evaded.
              • Tegatana: A karate hand-strike reinforced with her hardened body, enabling her to punch through concrete, break iron, and even pierce Kyōbo’s hide.
                • Additional Techniques

                • Foot Blade: Two-Sided Kick: A dual strike that simultaneously kicks two opponents at close range.
                  • Roundhouse BlockA defensive maneuver in which she rotates her hands in opposite directions, blocking an attack while damaging the opponent’s weapon or limb.
                    • Enhanced Conditioning
Amou has trained her body to perfection through Uechi-ryū discipline, granting her extraordinary control over every movement.

                      Enhanced Strength
Her physical power allows her to shatter hard objects with minimal effort and overwhelm even the strongest swordswomen. She is capable of overpowering Nomura in direct combat.

                      Enhanced Speed
Amou’s speed surpasses that of four of the Five Supreme Swords and even Nomura. Her reflexes are critical to her Auto-Counter, enabling her to strike faster than her opponents can react.

                      Enhanced Durability
Amou can harden her entire body at will, rendering most slashing and piercing attacks ineffective. However, her resilience is weaker against blunt-force techniques, such as Nomura’s Madan.

                      Relationships

                      Fudou Nomura
Amou’s relationship with Nomura is central to her character. The two first clashed at their previous school, where she severely wounded him and left him hospitalized. Despite this violent encounter, Amou developed a deep and obsessive attachment to him, bordering on romantic fixation. She openly demanded that Nomura “become her man,” though he rejected her, leading her to leave a scar across his back as both a mark of dominance and a symbol of their bond.

Her jealousy is particularly evident when she witnesses Nomura interacting with other girls, especially after he accidentally kissed Rin Onigawara. Amou views such moments as betrayals, reinforcing her possessive and yandere-like obsession. Before being transferred to Hokkai Academy, she kissed Nomura, leaving him conflicted and hinting that he retains unresolved feelings toward her.

                      Supreme Five Swords
Amou’s arrival at Aichi Symbiosis Academy immediately placed her in conflict with the Supreme Five Swords. She quickly asserted her dominance by defeating Rin Onigawara and Mary Kikakujou in battle, solidifying her reputation as the “Empress.” While she does not share a close relationship with the Five Swords, her presence significantly disrupts the group dynamic and forces them to adapt to her overwhelming strength.

                      Other Students
Among the academy’s broader student body, Amou inspires fear and awe. Her reputation for ruthlessness and her unmatched combat ability make her both respected and dreaded, ensuring her title of “Empress” carries considerable weight.
