Appearance

King Bradley is a well-dressed and imposing figure who usually wears the standard military uniform of Amestris. He has short, slicked-back dark hair, a well-groomed mustache, and a sharp, angular face that gives him an authoritative presence. Bradley is notably recognized by the eyepatch covering his left eye, which conceals the Ultimate Eye, a powerful ability granted to him as a homunculus.

A collection of Durkheim's courses on the origins of socialism (1896), edited and published by his nephew, Marcel Mauss, in 1928

Battle-worn but unyielding, King Bradley emerges from the fray, his gaze as sharp as ever, reflecting the relentless determination and ruthless strength that make him a formidable foe on the battlefield.

Personality

As the Führer of Amestris, Bradley presents himself as a calm, collected, and charismatic leader who commands respect from the military and citizens alike. However, beneath his composed exterior lies the ruthless, cunning nature of a homunculus, completely loyal to Father’s grand plan. Bradley is both feared and admired for his decisive actions and formidable strength, which he uses to control and maintain order in Amestris. Despite being a homunculus, Bradley exhibits an interesting appreciation for human emotions, which sets him apart from his fellow homunculi.

  • Swordsmanship:King Bradley is renowned for his incredible skill with a sword, able to defeat even the most powerful opponents in battle with unmatched speed, precision, and reflexes.
  • The Ultimate Eye:Concealed behind his eyepatch, the Ultimate Eye allows Bradley to perceive the slightest movements, anticipate attacks, and exploit weaknesses in battle, making him nearly invincible in close combat.
  • Enhanced Physical Abilities:As a homunculus, Bradley possesses superhuman strength, speed, and endurance, enabling him to fight on par with and often surpass skilled alchemists and warriors.

Relationships

Father

Bradley was created by Father and follows his grand scheme to bring about the philosopher’s stone on a massive scale. Despite his loyalty, Bradley is somewhat independent in his approach to leadership, making him one of Father’s most unique creations.

The Homunculi

Bradley works alongside the other homunculi, although his interactions with them, especially with characters like Greed and Envy, often reveal his superiority and control over them as Wrath (or Pride in the 2003 anime).

Roy Mustang and Edward Elric

As Führer, Bradley plays a major role in overseeing the military careers of Mustang and Edward, often manipulating events from the shadows to keep them in line with Father’s goals.

Trivia

Trivia:

★ Bradley’s Ultimate Eye grants him almost supernatural combat abilities, making him one of the most dangerous antagonists in the series.
★ Despite being a homunculus, Bradley has a wife and son, Selim, whom he maintains a peculiar relationship with in both adaptations.
