Kei Uzuki

Kei Uzuki (有月憬, Uzuki Kei), also known as “X” or “Slur” (☓スラー, Surā), is the main antagonist of the Sakamoto Days series. He is a notorious serial killer determined to overthrow the JAA alongside a group of elite assassins who share his vision. Around the same time Taro Sakamoto received his bounty, Uzuki massacred nearly one-fourth of the assassin industry, leaving behind a massive “X” drawn in the blood of his victims at each crime scene as his grim signature.

Appearance

Uzuki is a slim man of average height with an elegant yet unsettling presence. He has medium-length white hair, which appears blond in the digitally colored manga, styled in a messy middle part with long fringes that often fall over his emotionless blue eyes. When leaning forward, his hair can cover even his nose, giving him a mysterious and detached look. His hairstyle also conceals his ears, adding to his withdrawn and enigmatic aura. Uzuki typically wears a light gray turtleneck beneath a long grayish-yellow coat that reaches below his knees, paired with black pants and formal black shoes. In the digitally colored manga, his turtleneck appears light orange, and his coat and pants take on beige tones.

In his younger years at the JCC, Uzuki’s appearance was simpler but still carried his signature composure. He wore the same turtleneck, pants, and shoes, but without the long coat, giving him a more modest yet refined look. Even as a student, his demeanor suggested quiet confidence and emotional restraint, characteristics that would define him in his later years.

After regaining control of his body, Shinaya described Uzuki as a handsome man with white hair and a white suit, marking a sharp contrast from his former attire. His physical appearance subtly shifts depending on which personality is in control—when Rion’s personality surfaces, his eyes change to resemble hers, while under Takamura’s influence, his pupils turn completely white. These transformations reflect the internal conflict within Uzuki, whose composed exterior hides the turmoil and complexity of multiple identities battling for dominance.

Uzuki’s organization as seen in the manga

Uzuki is the leader of his own organization, known as X’s Organization, and stands as one of the most formidable assassins in the Sakamoto Days world. His reputation alone strikes fear throughout the underground, and his immense skill has been proven time and time again. As both a strategist and combatant, Uzuki demonstrates mastery in assassination techniques, effortlessly blending speed, precision, and intellect to eliminate his enemies with surgical efficiency. His power and influence are such that even the most skilled killers acknowledge his dominance.

In close quarters combat, Uzuki’s prowess is unmatched. He was capable of single handedly wiping out a quarter of the assassin industry, a feat so overwhelming that the Order, the world’s most elite group of assassins, had to intervene. His ability to fight on par with top tier killers like Sakamoto further highlights his mastery. With blinding speed, Uzuki can appear behind opponents without being detected, landing strikes before they even realize he has moved. He once stabbed Sakamoto in the stomach and slashed both Shin and Asakura without them noticing, proving his ability to blend stealth and speed into a terrifyingly lethal combination.

Despite his lean build, Uzuki possesses remarkable physical resilience. He has shown the endurance to withstand devastating injuries, including surviving Takamura’s slashes and enduring multiple stabbings from Sakamoto. His ability to stay standing after such brutal assaults demonstrates his sheer toughness and willpower. Uzuki’s durability, paired with his deadly agility, makes him nearly unstoppable in battle, an assassin whose body, mind, and instincts operate in perfect harmony, allowing him to dominate any encounter he faces.
