Kazutaka Hongou’s Appearance in his Koufuuin University Rugby Team

Kazutaka Hongou began his rugby career alongside his older brother, Madoka Hongou, at Maisagi High School, where the two quickly became known as exceptional siblings in the sport. Their contrasting yet complementary positions on the field made them highly respected among peers and rivals alike.

Following high school, Kazutaka enrolled at Koufuuin University, where he became a third-year student and continued to develop as a forward. He earned the nickname “Forward God of Destruction” for his powerful and aggressive playing style, which distinguished him as one of the most formidable forwards in the league. His older brother Madoka, meanwhile, joined Doshisha University and became renowned as the “God of Backs.”

The brothers’ decision to attend different universities set the stage for a compelling sibling rivalry. While both share a deep connection through rugby, their positions on opposing teams highlight their individual growth and create natural tension whenever Koufuuin and Doshisha face each other in competition.

Appearance

Kazutaka Hongou is portrayed as a tall and powerfully built young man, a physique that reflects the strength and endurance required of a forward in rugby. His dark purplish-red hair, worn with bangs swept to the left, gives him a sharp and slightly imposing look, while his eyes share the same deep shade, further emphasizing his intensity on the field. His expression often conveys determination, adding to his commanding presence during matches.

On the field, Kazutaka wears the Koufuuin University rugby uniform, which complements his imposing frame and highlights his role as the team’s number 8 forward. His physical design contrasts with that of his older brother, Madoka Hongou, where Madoka’s build and demeanor reflect precision and control as a back, Kazutaka’s appearance reinforces his reputation as the “Forward God of Destruction,” a title earned through his overwhelming power and aggressive style of play.

Personality

Kazutaka Hongou is depicted as the more arrogant and brash younger brother of Madoka Hongou. At 23 years old, his personality is shaped by a difficult childhood in which he often picked fights at school and displayed a rebellious streak. His rough behavior and strong will frequently set him apart from others, giving him an intimidating presence both on and off the field.

Despite his arrogance, Kazutaka’s relationship with his older brother greatly influenced his development. Recognizing his energy and aggression, Madoka encouraged him to channel his temperament into rugby, a decision that shaped his path as a player. Through rugby, Kazutaka refined his strength and discipline, eventually earning the reputation of the “Forward God of Destruction.”

Kazutaka was also connected to Ibuki Ueoka during high school, as well as sharing a wider childhood circle that included Natsusa Yuzuki and Seiichirou Shingyouji. While he often projects a proud and domineering personality, his ties to these relationships reveal a more complex side to his character, showing that beneath his arrogance lies loyalty and a desire to prove himself.

Relationships

Madoka Hongou
Kazutaka’s older brother and one of the most prominent backs in university rugby. Their sibling bond is central to Kazutaka’s story, with Madoka having played a major role in shaping his path. It was Madoka who first directed Kazutaka toward rugby, channeling his rebellious energy into the sport. While Kazutaka is proud and often arrogant, his relationship with Madoka reflects both rivalry and respect, as they are regarded as a pair of highly talented siblings with contrasting playing styles.

Ibuki Ueoka
Kazutaka was acquainted with Ibuki during high school, and the two share a history from their earlier years. While their relationship is not as deeply developed as his bond with Madoka, Ibuki represents a link to Kazutaka’s formative period in rugby and to the wider circle of players connected to Natsusa Yuzuki.

Natsusa Yuzuki and Seiichirou Shingyouji
Though not as close to them as Madoka or Ibuki, Kazutaka shares indirect ties through his brother and their childhood connections. These relationships highlight the interconnectedness of the rugby community and the overlap between his life and that of the Doshisha University team.
