Kasumi is a tall young woman with deep, dark eyes and long black hair styled in a hime cut. Among the girls of Maple Tree, she is the tallest and has a mature, curvy figure, though her kimono style outfit hides much of it. Her avatar stands out with its distinctly eastern, samurai inspired design, complete with a skirt that resembles a hakama but is split for better movement. She is also one of the older members of the guild.
Personality
Kasumi has a calm and reserved personality, but she is also friendly and easy to approach. Much like Chrome and Iz, she often acts like a guardian or older sister within the guild, looking out for the younger members. She is skilled in social interaction and communicates well with others.
Her real life preferences show up in the game through her love for eastern style equipment, Japanese themed items, and green tea. These tastes strongly influence her character design and choices in NewWorld Online. When the situation calls for it, Kasumi becomes cautious, intelligent, and competitive. Outside of battle, she returns to her gentle and pleasant demeanor, a side of her personality that appears more often after joining Maple Tree.
History
Kasumi goes on a spending spree on the 4th layer, which has a traditional Japanese atmosphere she enjoys. She spends all her funds on antiques, eventually obtaining the Self-Devouring Bewitched Sword Yukari. She is also the first player to max out her entry permit at level 9 during the 4th event.
During her search for a monster companion, Kasumi explored the 4th layer for new changes. At a tavern, she met a frog person who told her about a monster in the Fog Valley in a Faraway Land. Following this hint, she completed a short quest that led her through several layers. She defeated small demons on the 4th layer, collected a purple and white feather from cloud-winged birds on the 5th layer, and defeated the headless knight, a boss class undead, on the 6th layer. Returning to the frog person, she received a map as a clue to her next destination.
The map guided her to a valley on the 7th layer. After nearly giving up, she closed her eyes and looked down, only to find herself transported to the Fog Valley in a Faraway Land. There, she encountered a giant white snake with glowing red eyes that paralyzed her with its gaze. After investigating further, she learned the creature could only be damaged once and that moving while in its line of sight was impossible.
Unable to defeat the giant snake directly, Kasumi searched the area and discovered its nest. Using her new skill, Mind’s Eye, she navigated the difficult terrain. She struck the giant snake between its eyes and used some of Iz’s bombs to blast herself into the nest. Deep inside, she reached a hot spring where a small white snake appeared. After it climbed onto her, the hot spring erupted and granted her the Bridge of Bonds ring. She later named the little snake Haku.
