Appearance in Anime

Kaori Shirasaki was a top student and one of the most popular girls at her high school in Japan. During a school field trip, she and her classmates were summoned to the world of Tortus to serve as heroes in the war between humanity and the demon race. Her designated role was that of a Priest, granting her powerful healing abilities and support-based magic.

Kaori initially fought alongside her classmates under the leadership of Kouki Amanogawa, but she always held deep concern for Hajime Nagumo, who was treated as an outcast and eventually fell into the abyss of the Great Orcus Labyrinth. After Hajime’s survival and transformation, Kaori developed strong romantic feelings for him and resolved to join him on his journey, despite the dangers.

During the invasion of the Heiligh Kingdom, Kaori was killed in battle by one of her own corrupted classmates. However, her soul was preserved, and she was revived by Hajime through a soul transference into a powerful artificial body, giving her a second life and new strength.

Appearance

Kaori is a beautiful young woman with long silver hair (black in her original form), gentle brown eyes, and a graceful aura. As a Priest, she originally wore white robes with golden embellishments, symbolizing her divine role. After her resurrection, she takes on a more combat-ready form, donning a sleek outfit suited for battle, while retaining her gentle features and calm demeanor.

Her new body grants her enhanced physical abilities, making her more athletic and durable, though she retains her healer’s elegance and spiritual aura.

Personality

Kaori is kind, gentle, and compassionate, often acting as the emotional heart of the group. She is deeply empathetic and believes in protecting others, even at the cost of her own safety. Her unwavering kindness is paired with a strong sense of justice and inner strength, especially when standing up for those she cares about.

Despite her priestly role, Kaori is not afraid to take initiative or act boldly, especially when it involves Hajime, the person she loves. Her feelings for him are intense, but she is respectful and understanding of the other women in his life, choosing to support them as comrades rather than rivals. After being revived, Kaori becomes more confident and assertive, stepping into a more active combatant role while maintaining her nurturing spirit.

Role in the Story

Life as a Priest: Kaori begins her journey as the class’s top healer, using her powers to support Kouki and their party in the early battles against the demon race. She harbors growing concern for Hajime, who is bullied and eventually presumed dead. Her worry for him eventually develops into love after he returns from the abyss, changed and powerful.

Death and Resurrection: During the demon invasion of the Heiligh Kingdom, Kaori is tragically killed by Eri Nakamura, one of her corrupted classmates. However, Hajime uses forbidden alchemy and advanced magic to transfer Kaori’s soul into an artificial body, reviving her with enhanced capabilities. This marks a turning point in her character transforming her from a support role into a combat-capable warrior.

Journey with Hajime: After her revival, Kaori joins Hajime on his quest, aiding him with both healing magic and front-line combat. She competes openly for Hajime’s heart but remains loyal and cooperative with the other girls in his party. Her presence offers emotional stability to the group and reaffirms Hajime’s connection to his original world.

Return to Earth: After defeating the god Ehit, Kaori returns to Earth with Hajime and his companions. She eventually becomes one of Hajime’s wives, continuing to support him as he re-adapts to modern life.

Relationships

Hajime Nagumo: The man Kaori loves. Her affection for Hajime begins before his transformation but solidifies after seeing his determination and strength. She openly confesses her love and is willing to leave everything behind to follow him. Hajime respects and values her deeply, ultimately accepting her as one of his wives.

Shizuku Yaegashi: Kaori’s childhood friend and closest confidant. Shizuku often serves as a voice of reason and moral support to Kaori, especially during emotional conflicts. Their friendship remains strong even when Kaori joins Hajime’s party.

Kouki Amanogawa: Another childhood friend. Kouki harbors feelings for Kaori and is devastated when she chooses Hajime over him. Despite this, Kaori remains respectful and kind to Kouki, though she firmly rejects his advances.
