Jin Bubaigawara

Jin Bubaigawara (分ぶ倍ばい河がわ原ら仁じん), better known by his villain name Twice (トゥワイス / Tuwaisu), is a complex and tragic antagonist in the My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia) series, created by Kōhei Horikoshi.

There’s no place for insane guys like me in society. As for the people heroes like to save… yeah, they’re always the good, virtuous ones. Anyway, I finally accepted me for me and decided to make myself useful to the League of Villains… because I wanna be okay with me being me.
– Jin Bubaigawara

Appearance

Jin Bubaigawara was a well-built man with blond hair, gray-blue eyes, and a noticeable absence of eyebrows. A large scar ran down the center of his forehead, a reminder of a traumatic incident from his past. He had faint facial hair above his mouth and on his chin, giving him a slightly rugged look. In civilian life, Jin dressed simply, wearing a blue-collared shirt over a white tank top, along with standard pants and boots. His appearance, though casual, often masked the mental turmoil and identity struggles he endured due to the overuse of his Quirk.

As Twice, his villain costume was a full black and gray bodysuit that completely covered his body, paired with gray boots. His mask, one of his most iconic features, had a gray upper half with white eye sockets and a black lower half covering his mouth. He wore red wristbands with thick green lines and small circular designs, which stored the measuring tapes essential for activating his Quirk. The suit itself featured distinctive gray patterns: a “T” formed across his upper torso and abdomen, and a “W” design that extended from his waist down to his thighs and up to his hips. These stylized elements not only added visual impact but subtly reinforced his villain identity, “Twice.”

Abilities and Skills

Overall Abilities: Jin Bubaigawara was a capable and highly valuable member of the League of Villains, with a Quirk that made him a formidable support asset in combat. His ability, Double, allowed him to create exact copies of people or objects, which he could use to reinforce both himself and his allies during battle. Before joining the League, Jin had used this power for widespread theft and burglary, becoming one of the government’s most wanted criminals. Giran noted that his Quirk had the potential to topple entire nations, and Tomura Shigaraki considered Jin’s power crucial to the League’s success. His abilities were so sought after that both Overhaul and the Meta Liberation Army tried to recruit him for their own agendas. Even Dabi acknowledged how vital Jin was to his plans and reacted with fury when Twice was killed by Hawks. Beyond his Quirk, Jin was also a skilled acrobat with impressive agility and reflexes, able to completely evade an ice wave from Shoto Todoroki, one of U.A.’s most talented students.

Hawks, the No. 2 Pro Hero, regarded Jin as the most dangerous of Tomura Shigaraki’s lieutenants, largely because of how destructive his Quirk could become if left unchecked. This belief led Hawks to prioritize Jin’s capture at the outset of the Paranormal Liberation War. Understanding the devastating impact Twice’s cloning ability could have on the battlefield, Hawks ultimately made the difficult decision to kill Jin before he could unleash his power during the conflict. Despite his personal admiration for Jin’s loyalty and kind nature, Hawks knew that the threat he posed, especially when emotionally driven—was too great to ignore.
