Hitoshi Shinso

Hitoshi Shinso, also known as the Hypnosis Hero: Nighthide, is a graduate of U.A. High School who initially attended Class 1-C in the Department of General Education. He later earned a transfer to the prestigious Hero Course, joining Class 2-A, where he honed his abilities and pursued his dream of becoming a Pro Hero. Eight years after graduating, Hitoshi has established himself as a Pro Hero alongside his classmates, continuing to showcase his unique Quirk and resourcefulness in the field.

Appearance in anime

Shinso’s journey to becoming a hero was marked by his determination to overcome societal bias against his Quirk, Brainwashing, which many associated with villainy. Despite starting in the General Education Department, he aspired to join the Hero Course and worked tirelessly to prove his worth. His perseverance paid off during the U.A. Sports Festival, where he demonstrated his strategic brilliance and potential as a hero.

Under the mentorship of Shota Aizawa (Eraser Head), Shinso trained rigorously to enhance his combat skills and Quirk proficiency. His efforts earned him a place in Class 2-A of the Hero Course, where he continued to grow and develop alongside his peers.

Appearance

Shinso is a lean young man with unruly purple hair and sharp indigo eyes. His tired-looking expression and distinctive hair make him easily recognizable. During his time at U.A., Shinso often wore the school’s standard uniform or his hero costume, which features a high-tech mask and binding cloth, reflecting Aizawa’s influence. In his Pro Hero career, Shinso adopts a more polished version of his hero costume, maintaining elements of his mentor’s style while adding his own flair.

Personality

Shinso is introverted, determined, and highly analytical. While initially appearing aloof and reserved, his actions reveal a deep desire to prove himself and protect others. He harbors a strong sense of justice and works diligently to defy the negative assumptions about his Quirk.

Though Shinso can come across as blunt, he values teamwork and respects those who acknowledge his efforts. His introspective nature and strategic mind make him a thoughtful and reliable ally in high-pressure situations.

  • Hero Course Transfer
Under the guidance of Shota Aizawa, Shinso trains extensively, learning to integrate his Brainwashing Quirk with physical combat skills and the use of binding cloth. His progress culminates in his transfer to Class 2-A, where he becomes a full-fledged Hero Course student, training alongside aspiring heroes like Midoriya and Bakugo.

  • Post-Graduation and Pro Hero Career
After graduating from U.A., Shinso establishes himself as a Pro Hero, using his unique Quirk and strategic abilities to tackle a variety of missions. As the Hypnosis Hero: Nighthide, he continues to defy expectations and prove that even unconventional Quirks can be used heroically.
