Plot

Hina Chono’s playful nature often leads her to sneak into the personal lives of her friends, especially when it comes to romance. One day, she surprises Taiki by sneaking up behind him and asking what he and Kyo are talking about. Her sudden question startles him, and when he brushes it off as nothing, she teasingly presses him further. Eventually, Taiki, a bit flustered, asks for her advice on what girls like. Blushing, Hina eagerly shares her insights, overwhelming him with her enthusiastic explanations.

The following week, Hina spots Taiki at the gym, distracted by something. Curious, she asks him what he’s looking at, and he explains that he thought Chinatsu looked serious, which piqued his interest. To tease him, Hina mischievously fabricates a story, claiming to have seen Chinatsu with another guy. This causes Taiki to panic, but when he realizes she’s just joking, Hina bursts out laughing.

Later, Hina approaches Kyo while observing Taiki practicing with a new partner. She asks him if Taiki has been playing non-stop, and Kyo tells her about Taiki’s unwavering focus and commitment to his goal of competing in the Nationals. Hina chuckles, commenting that Taiki has always loved pushing himself to his limits. As they continue watching, she reflects on the fact that those who stay true to themselves, like Taiki, are often the toughest individuals.

One day, while watching Taiki do sit-ups, Hina asks him what he’s doing. He admits he’s trying to stay focused as the qualifiers for Nationals approach. Sensing a shift in his mood, she asks if something happened between him and Chinatsu, which causes Taiki to freak out. Intrigued by his reaction, Hina follows him, and they run into Chinatsu, who hands Taiki his wallet. Hina, somewhat puzzled, wonders what’s going on between them. Her thoughts are interrupted when she realizes that Taiki is starting to muster the courage to interact with Chinatsu.

Later, as Hina helps carry chairs, she observes Taiki’s awkward behavior around Chinatsu and decides to ask if she has a boyfriend. Chinatsu, however, reveals that she’s focusing on the basketball team for now. After helping with the chairs, Hina, still curious, asks Kyo if something is going on between Taiki and Chinatsu, since Taiki seemed upset. Kyo simply responds that he thinks Taiki and Chinatsu might be a better match than he initially thought, leaving Hina even more confused.

After school, Hina is practicing at the gym, drawing the admiration of many male students. Her coach praises her performance, calling her the star of the team. When she notices Taiki and Kyo watching, she jokingly asks for a spectator fee of 2,000 yen. Teasingly, she accuses Taiki of giving her “passionate looks,” but before he can respond, Taiki sees Chinatsu and rushes off to practice. Hina, still watching, takes note of his behavior and starts to wonder about his feelings for Chinatsu.

Later, in the shopping arcade, Hina bumps into Taiki, who seems oddly anxious. When she tells him she’s going to see a chiropractor near his house, he urges her to leave quickly. As they walk, Hina takes her time, causing Taiki to get impatient. When she spots taiyaki, Taiki offers to buy her one, but Hina declines, explaining that it would affect her caloric intake and grace in her gymnastics routines. When Taiki tells her how impressed he is by her dedication, Hina blushes and compliments him on his own discipline. She encourages him to seize victory in his goals, which leaves him smiling and asking what’s gotten into her.

Before Taiki can respond, they spot Chinatsu and Haryu walking together. Hina tries to distract him from looking, but Taiki nervously watches them. Hina reassures him that they are just friends, but Taiki remains unsure. The next day, Hina sees Taiki getting anxious about Chinatsu and Haryu talking in the gym. She reminds him that Chinatsu is focused on basketball, but Taiki can’t stop worrying. As he drags Kyo away to practice, Hina watches them go, still curious about Taiki’s growing feelings.

The following week, Hina watches Taiki’s match with Haryu, cheering him on excitedly. When Taiki struggles during the match, she turns to Kyo for an explanation. He informs her that Taiki and Haryu are on different levels, which helps Hina understand the pressure Taiki is under. As the second match begins, Hina becomes even more supportive, excitedly rooting for Taiki.

During class, Hina teases Taiki about looking like a mushroom due to his exhaustion from training. Taiki jokingly claims that the classroom is his only place to relax. She asks him about Haryu and if he’s the same guy she saw with Chinatsu. Hina wonders aloud if Haryu’s intense training is his way of pushing Taiki away from Chinatsu, showing him the difference in their status. Taiki agrees with her observation but expresses a desire to be stronger, even if it means facing such challenges.

On a Friday afternoon, as Hina is in a meeting with the rhythmic gymnastics team, Taiki rushes in and, after a brief exchange, accidentally drops his uniform on the ground. When Hina tries to pick it up, Taiki lies, saying he hasn’t washed it in a year. Disgusted, Hina forces him to leave, all while laughing at his awkwardness. The day before the badminton club’s regional preliminaries, Hina teases Taiki about not getting too excited and embarrassing himself, but he tells her to mind her own business. Hina, ever the playful friend, decides to ask Kyo to record Taiki’s match instead, enjoying the lighthearted moment.
