Hanabusa was born into the prestigious Aido family, one of the noble vampire houses that serve the Kuran family. Raised with a strong sense of duty, he was taught to be loyal to Kaname Kuran, whom his family has long supported.

His early life was marked by privilege, but he was also trained in the responsibilities of an Aristocrat Vampire, including his inherent ice-based abilities. He grew up alongside his cousins, Akatsuki Kain and Ruka Souen, and formed a deep bond with them.

At Cross Academy, Hanabusa was initially known for his playful and flirtatious personality, often indulging in causing trouble with the Day Class students. However, after witnessing Kaname’s struggles and sacrifices, he gradually matures into a more serious and loyal protector.

Hanabusa is often described as strikingly handsome, with golden blonde hair and bright blue eyes that enhance his aristocratic elegance. His refined features and confident demeanor make him one of the most admired members of the Night Class.

Like the other Night Class students, Hanabusa wears the white Cross Academy uniform, which accentuates his noble presence. His appearance, coupled with his charming smile and playful attitude, makes him a favorite among the Day Class girls, earning him the nickname “Idol”.

He frequently seeks Kaname’s approval and can be seen idolizing him, sometimes to the point of recklessness. Despite his loyalty, Hanabusa struggles with the secrecy surrounding Kaname’s actions, especially when he begins eliminating Pureblood vampires. This internal conflict forces Hanabusa to reevaluate his beliefs, ultimately leading him to question Kaname’s decisions while still supporting him.

• Tutor and Protector of Yuki Kuran
  After Yuki awakens as a Pureblood vampire, Hanabusa is assigned the role of her tutor, helping her adapt to her new life. Initially resentful of this responsibility, he later accepts it with pride, realizing that Yuki represents the future of the vampire world. Hanabusa becomes one of Yuki’s most trusted allies, offering both guidance and protection.
