Ginshu is a character in the anime and manga series Children of the Whales. She is a member of the Vigilante Corps, the group responsible for maintaining order and protecting the peace aboard the Mud Whale. Energetic and strong-willed, Ginshu plays a key role in both defending the community and supporting its younger members during times of crisis.
Personality

Appearance in Anime
Ginshu is cheerful, confident, and often operates at her own pace, giving her a playful and unpredictable presence among the residents of the Mud Whale. She insists on being addressed as “Ms. Ginshu” and has a habit of giving others affectionate nicknames most notably calling Chakuro “Chakki.” Though strong and capable, Ginshu can be easily misled, as shown when Chakuro convinces her to challenge the Self-Defense Corps on his behalf. Despite her impulsive tendencies, she is charismatic and well-liked, always eager to support her friends and protect those around her.
Appearance
Ginshu has long reddish-brown hair styled in a messy braid, with two small braided loops on top of her head while the rest flows freely down her back. She wears a long red dress designed in the style of the Mud Whale’s Self-Defense Corps uniform, with a front split that extends halfway down. Beneath the dress, she wears black shorts, paired with thigh-high black socks and black sandals, blending practicality with her bold personal style.
Plot
Ginshu first appears as one of the guards assigned to the expedition to the mysterious floating island at the beginning of the series. She is more formally introduced following the first attack on the Mud Whale, where she attempts to lift Chakuro’s spirits in the aftermath of the violence. In a humorous moment that highlights her gullibility, Chakuro tricks her into attacking fellow members of the Vigilante Corps, allowing him and his companions to slip past undetected.
Relationships
Chakuro
Ginshu shares a lighthearted and somewhat playful relationship with Chakuro. She insists that he refer to her as “Ms. Ginshu” and affectionately gives him the nickname “Chakki,” much to his discomfort. Despite her assertive attitude, she is easily influenced by flattery particularly when Chakuro addresses her with the title she demands often leading to humorous interactions between the two.
