Appearance
Unlike the other main characters, who typically wear the same outfits with only minor color variations between series, movies, and TV specials, Fujiko Mine is known for her wide variety of clothing styles. In several TV specials and in Daisuke Jigen’s Gravestone, she wears a zip-up catsuit inspired by the one Marianne Faithfull wore in Girl on a Motorcycle. Outside of the manga, Fujiko is usually portrayed as a brunette, though her hair color has varied greatly over the years, appearing as brunette, blonde, or red, with lengths ranging from medium to waist length. In The Castle of Cagliostro, The Secret of Twilight Gemini, and Walther P38, she is shown as a blonde, as well as in promotional materials and the second and third openings of Lupin the 3rd Part 2, despite being brunette in the main series. In Lupin the 3rd Part 4 and Fujiko Mine’s Lie, her hair features light highlights on top with darker tones underneath. Some manga and soundtrack covers depict her as either blonde or brunette, as Monkey Punch was inconsistent about her hair color. Her most consistent physical trait is her brown eyes, and she often wears makeup, including lipstick.
Fujiko is occasionally seen wearing glasses, though it is unclear whether they are simply a fashion accessory or if she actually needs them, possibly alternating between glasses and contact lenses. One of her most notable physical features is her exaggeratedly large bust, which was noticeably reduced in size during the latter half of Part 1.
When Monkey Punch reimagined her in Shin Lupin III, Fujiko was distinguished by her long, fluffy mid-1970s hairstyle, giving her a more contemporary look for that era.
Personality

Fujiko Mine’s response to why she betrays Lupin
Fujiko Mine is one of the most enigmatic and unpredictable characters in the Lupin III universe. Her personality is a fascinating mix of elegance, intelligence, and self-interest. She embodies the classic femme fatale, using her beauty and charm to manipulate others, yet she is far more than a simple seductress. Fujiko is cunning, independent, and deeply ambitious, often placing her personal goals above all else. Though she frequently betrays Lupin and his gang, she shares with them an unspoken bond built on mutual respect and occasional affection. Beneath her manipulative exterior lies a sense of adventure that drives her to pursue danger and excitement for their own sake, rather than just for profit.
While Fujiko is not an official member of Lupin’s gang, she often works alongside them when their interests align. Her usual tactic is to cooperate with the team until the moment the prize is within reach, then double cross them to take the loot for herself. At times, she aligns with Lupin’s enemies or with Inspector Zenigata to gain an advantage, only to switch sides again once she has what she wants. Despite her constant betrayals, Lupin rarely holds a grudge, viewing her deception almost as part of their ongoing game. In Farewell to Nostradamus, when Fujiko suffers from amnesia, Lupin even says he hopes she recovers soon because he looks forward to her betrayals, showing the strange affection and tolerance he has for her unpredictable nature.
Fujiko is also a highly skilled professional who relies on more than just charm. She is an expert marksman, favoring a Browning M1910 pistol typically carried in a garter holster. Over time, she has also demonstrated impressive martial arts skills, capable of defeating larger opponents with precision and strength. She is a master of disguise and mimicry, able to adopt new identities with ease and fluency in numerous languages. Like the other members of Lupin’s team, she can handle a wide variety of vehicles on land, sea, and air, though she often prefers motorcycles, especially her signature Kawasaki.

Fujiko’s weapon
Her sexuality has long been portrayed as fluid and pragmatic. Fujiko is known to use romance, seduction, and even intimacy as tools to achieve her objectives. She has kissed or slept with different men for information or survival, showing that she views attraction as another means of control. The 2012 anime The Woman Called Fujiko Mine implies that she may be bisexual, though whether this reflects her true orientation or another method of manipulation is left ambiguous. Ultimately, Fujiko remains a mystery: alluring, dangerous, and endlessly captivating, a woman whose freedom and self-determination are as central to her character as her beauty and intelligence.
Fujiko Mine is almost always seen dressed in the height of fashion. Her signature style includes elegant formal gowns and fine jewelry that highlight her sophistication and confidence. When dressing more casually, she favors outfits that accentuate her figure while maintaining a sense of class and allure. Fujiko enjoys the finer things in life and is often shown indulging in her favorite pastimes, such as shopping, attending lavish social events, dancing at discos, horseback riding, and spending time with wealthy men. She has a taste for luxury, often sipping champagne or fine wine, and is occasionally seen enjoying a martini. In keeping with her mature, worldly image, she smokes cigarettes and sometimes uses a traditional kiseru pipe.
Fujiko’s fears are more clearly defined than those of the other members of Lupin’s crew. One of her best-known phobias is her fear of frogs, first revealed in Part 2, Episode 69, where Inspector Zenigata uses it against her to gain the upper hand. Another of her insecurities is her fear of aging and losing her beauty. Fujiko often mocks or looks down on older individuals, suggesting that she deeply fears becoming less attractive or desirable herself. Additionally, Part 2, Episode 110 establishes that she suffers from claustrophobia, a rare moment where her vulnerability is shown beneath her otherwise composed and fearless exterior.
Abilities and Skills

Fujiko top disguise
Fujiko Mine is one of the most capable and versatile characters in the Lupin III series. A master thief and professional con artist, she possesses an exceptional blend of intelligence, agility, and charisma. Her skills allow her to thrive in almost any situation, whether infiltrating a high-security fortress, escaping capture, or manipulating her way into the confidence of her targets. Fujiko’s beauty and charm often serve as her most effective weapons, but beneath her glamorous exterior lies a disciplined and highly trained criminal mind. She steals not just for wealth, but for the thrill of challenge and the satisfaction of outsmarting others.
As a professional thief, Fujiko demonstrates expertise in a wide range of technical and criminal skills. She is a master of disguise, able to alter her appearance and voice to convincingly impersonate anyone she chooses. Her fluency in multiple languages enables her to blend seamlessly into international settings and interact with people from all walks of life. Fujiko is also a precise and confident marksman, favoring her signature Browning M1910 pistol, which she keeps holstered in her garter. Like the other members of Lupin’s gang, she can operate nearly any land, sea, or air vehicle, though she tends to favor sleek motorcycles and luxury cars.
In addition to her technical expertise, Fujiko is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant. She has demonstrated impressive martial arts proficiency, capable of defeating opponents much larger than herself with speed and precision. Her fighting style often includes striking pressure points to paralyze or incapacitate enemies instantly. In several portrayals, Fujiko has also displayed remarkable physical endurance and resistance to extreme conditions such as fire, cold, or electric shock. Depending on the adaptation, she has even resisted mind control and psychological manipulation, hinting at a level of resilience that borders on superhuman.
