Appearance
Frederica in uniform
Frederica is a small, slender girl with a petite frame and a delicate, doll-like face. Her striking blood-red eyes, a characteristic of a Pyrope, contrast with her jet-black hair, which flows all the way down to her knees, reminiscent of Onyx.
As the Mascot of the Nordlicht Squadron, Frederica wears a child-sized version of the Federacy’s military uniform, with the steel-colored jacket replaced by a beige one. She occasionally dons a beige flight cap, which is emblazoned with the Giadian emblem, further emphasizing her unique role.

Personality

Frederica’s personality is a unique blend of maturity and childishness, shaped by her special ability and her upbringing as the future Empress. When serious, she is outspoken and articulate, often speaking with the maturity of someone far older than her years. However, her haughty mannerisms can sometimes alienate others, and she has no hesitation in arguing her point with grown adults, doing so without fear.
Despite her mature side, Frederica often exhibits the behavior of a typical 10-year-old. She acts impulsively, occasionally breaking protocol to get her way, such as when she snuck aboard Shinei’s transport during a sortie. As a child, she enjoyed boyish activities like tree climbing, much to the dismay of her knight.
Having lived a sheltered life, Frederica is eager to experience the world around her. She finds joy in simple things, like the sight of a pair of deer, which excites her like any child would.
Frederica generally speaks in an old-fashioned manner, with Shin noting that her parlance is reminiscent of his mother’s. She also has a habit of calling people by their full names instead of their nicknames, reflecting her formal upbringing.
Background
Frederica was born in the year RY 358 / SY 2139. At one point, she was assigned Kiriya Nouzen as her personal knight and caretaker, forming a bond of trust and loyalty.
During the same year of her birth, the Giadian Empire launched an all-out war against its neighboring countries. Six years later, the empire was overthrown, and nearly all members of the imperial royal family perished, leaving Frederica as the last surviving member of the once-powerful dynasty. To protect her, Frederica was adopted by Ernst Zimmerman, who faked her death to the public, ensuring her survival in secrecy.
Abilities
Psychometry
Due to her Pyrope heritage, Frederica possesses the ability of psychometry, which allows her to see both the past and present of a person she is familiar with. Through this power, she can observe them and their surroundings as if she were physically standing beside them. When viewing someone’s present, she sees exactly what they are seeing at that moment. For the past, Frederica can see what the person is currently remembering, even if it is only on a subconscious level.
This ability proves to be valuable, especially when extracting personal information or searching for missing in action (MIA) combatants.
However, her power comes with certain limitations. Frederica only sees images, not sounds, which makes her observations less complete. Additionally, she cannot directly share the information she sees with others and often struggles to describe what she observes due to her lack of experience. For example, she was unable to distinguish the North Star from the countless other stars in the sky.
Furthermore, Frederica’s psychometry will not work on individuals whose names she does not know. Only after speaking to someone and asking for their name will she be able to access their past and present through her ability.
