Franky Franklin (フランキー・フランクリン, Furankī Furankurin) is a recurring character in the SPY x FAMILY series. Although he appears to be an ordinary tobacco shop clerk, he secretly works as an informant and serves as a close associate of Loid Forger. Personality

Franky is an easygoing and sociable man who is always ready to lend a hand to Loid, even when the situation is dangerous. Despite often cautioning Loid about getting too attached to others in their line of work, Franky himself is a hopeless romantic, frequently falling for women who rarely return his affection. While his romantic pursuits often end in failure, he is far more successful socially, well liked and popular among his peers, with many acquaintances greeting him warmly at clubs and gatherings.

Although loyal, Franky has a pragmatic and money driven side. He often agrees to help Loid in exchange for material rewards, even when he’s hesitant or the task involves significant risk. Having once served in the war between the East and West, Franky grew disillusioned with the senseless violence and defected from the Ostanian army. His disdain for the government’s oppressive regime drives him to secretly cooperate with Westalian agents like Loid and Fiona, passing along valuable intelligence as his own quiet rebellion against tyranny.

Abilities and Skills

As an informant, Franky excels in gathering intelligence and cultivating connections across Ostania. He is remarkably skilled at acquiring confidential information without detection, successfully obtaining sensitive documents such as personal data on unmarried women or even the answers to Eden Academy’s entrance exam. His extensive network of contacts and fellow informants enables him to collect data swiftly, borrow various skills when needed, and move freely throughout the city without drawing attention.

Beyond his role as an informant, Franky is also a passionate inventor, frequently creating gadgets and devices, though many of them tend to be overly specialized or impractical. Despite this, his creativity and technical ability are undeniable. His wide circle of acquaintances spans multiple industries and professions, providing him with valuable insight and resources. Franky maintains friendly relations with many of these individuals, often leveraging these connections to aid WISE agents like Loid and Fiona or to pursue his own personal goals.
