Eve Reese is a demon belonging to the Black Wing tribe and serves as the group’s candidate to become the next Demon Queen. Her primary objective is to overthrow and kill the reigning Demon King, Hakuou, who sought to eradicate her tribe. Eve’s role in the narrative is defined by her pursuit of vengeance for her people and her position as a central figure in the ongoing conflict between the demon factions.
Personality

Eve Reese’s Appearance in Anime
Eve Reese is depicted as reserved and introverted, often appearing shy and less outspoken than those around her. The repeated persecution of the Black Wing tribe has shaped her into a deeply cautious individual, leaving her wary of others and reluctant to place her trust easily. This guarded nature reflects both her survival instincts and the lingering trauma of being hunted.
Despite her quiet demeanor, Eve is not without darker impulses. Although less consumed by vengeance than characters such as Setsuna or Keyaru, she harbors a strong desire for retribution against those responsible for the near annihilation of her people. In battle, she demonstrates a ruthless streak, sometimes expressing a sadistic satisfaction when killing enemies associated with the destruction of her tribe. These moments highlight the tension between her otherwise reserved personality and the hatred she carries from her past.
Beneath her mistrust and anger, Eve also shows persistence and determination. As her tribe’s candidate for Demon Queen, she shoulders the burden of her people’s survival, suggesting a strong sense of responsibility despite her initial hesitancy to engage with others. This combination of shyness, distrust, and underlying resolve makes her a complex figure, defined by both vulnerability and latent ferocity.
Appearance
Eve Reese is described as having striking red eyes, long dark purple hair, and a distinctive pair of black wings that identify her as a member of the Black Wing tribe. Her design emphasizes her demonic heritage while also setting her apart visually from other characters.
Following her success in the trial of the divine bird Caladorius, Eve undergoes a significant transformation. Her hair changes to silver, and she gains a pair of red horns, symbolizing both her ascension in power and her progression toward becoming a Demon Queen candidate. This physical shift highlights her evolving role in the story and further accentuates her unique status among demons.
Background
Eve Reese was born into the Black Wing tribe, a marginalized demon race that faced near extermination under the rule of Demon King Hakuou. As one of the few survivors of her people, she was chosen as the tribe’s candidate to become the next Demon Queen, a position that carries both symbolic importance and the hope of restoring her clan’s dignity.
The destruction of her tribe left Eve distrustful of others and forced her into a life of constant caution. Despite this, she remained determined to survive and fulfill her role as successor. Her ultimate objective is to kill Hakuou in retaliation for his attempt to eradicate the Black Wings and to ensure her people are never subjected to such persecution again.
During her journey, Eve confronts the trial of the divine bird Caladorius, an ordeal that transforms her both physically and symbolically. Emerging with silver hair and red horns, she gains not only greater strength but also recognition as a true Demon Queen candidate. This transformation solidifies her place as a pivotal figure in the larger conflict between demon factions.
Relationships
Keyaru
In the original timeline, Eve encounters Keyaru after he gains immense power from healing the heroes. Following her defeat, she tells him that she had something to protect before vanishing. When Keyaru travels back in time, he meets Eve again in a tavern in Buranica, at a point before she has ascended to the position of Demon Queen. After rescuing her from a group of attackers, Keyaru vows to support her and ensure that she becomes the next Demon Queen, hoping to establish a future of coexistence between humans and demons.
Over the course of their journey, particularly during their quest to obtain the power of the divine bird Caladrius, Eve and Keyaru grow closer. Their bond develops into a mutual partnership grounded in shared goals and trust, ultimately culminating in a romantic relationship.
Etymology
Eve’s name is considered a pun on Iblis, the figure in Islamic tradition who refused to bow before Adam at God’s command. In the Qur’an, Iblis is described as a Jinn cast out for his disobedience, later associated with temptation and rebellion. Iblis is also known by the alternate name Shaitan, corresponding to Satan in Christian tradition. The allusion underscores Eve’s role as a rebellious figure opposing the established Demon King, tying her identity to broader themes of defiance against authority.
