Eris Boreas Greyrat was born into the Boreas Greyrat family, one of the four great noble families of the Asura Kingdom, governing the Fittoa Region. Unlike the refined and well-mannered noble daughters of her status, Eris was uncontrollable, violent, and lacked discipline, leading her family to consider her a failure as a noble. Despite this, she was greatly influenced by her grandfather, Sauros Boreas Greyrat, and her personal sword instructor, Ghislaine Dedoldia, who instilled in her a passion for swordsmanship.

After the Teleport Incident, which wiped out the Fittoa Region, Eris found herself stranded on the Demon Continent alongside Rudeus Greyrat and Ruijerd Superdia. During their perilous journey to the Central Continent, Eris developed stronger combat skills and grew emotionally attached to Rudeus, despite their constant clashes. However, following the tragic realization that her home was gone and her parents were presumed dead, Eris made the painful decision to leave Rudeus behind and dedicate herself fully to the path of the sword. She abandoned her noble status, relinquishing the Boreas name, and sought strength in the Holy Land of Swords.

Upon arriving at the Holy Land of Swords, Gal Farion, the Sword God, recognized her potential and ambition. When Eris boldly declared her intent to cut down Orsted, the Dragon God, Gal found amusement in her determination and personally oversaw her training. She quickly proved her exceptional talent by defeating Jino Britts and Nina Farion, two prominent disciples of the Sword God Style. However, when she challenged Gal himself, she was immediately overpowered by his Battle Aura, which sent her flying through the dojo’s gate and into a pile of snow. Recognizing her fierce spirit, Gal bestowed upon her the title of Sword Saint and instructed Ghislaine to oversee her growth further.

For the next six months, Eris trained in complete isolation, practicing her sword swings on a remote peninsula north of the dojo. Gal’s instructions were simple: swing the sword until exhaustion, sit and reflect while resting, and repeat the process. She followed this routine relentlessly, allowing herself only brief moments for food and sleep.

One day, after an intense training session, Auber Corvette, a North God Style master, appeared before her. When he attempted to speak, Eris, still in her aggressive nature, demanded that he move aside. Instead of backing down, Auber engaged her in a fight. Despite losing her sword mid-battle, Eris continued her assault with raw ferocity, forcing Auber to acknowledge her as a true warrior, not just a reckless brute. The fight ended when Gal intervened, preventing Auber from killing Eris in self-defense. Auber, intrigued by her tenacity, remarked that she was the ‘Mad Dog’ Gal had spoken of.

One year later, under Auber’s tutelage, Eris achieved the rank of North Saint, making her a formidable swordswoman trained in both Sword God Style and North God Style.

Eris Boreas Greyrat is described as a strikingly beautiful young woman with long, fiery red hair and vivid red eyes that reflect her intense personality. Her well-toned body complements her athletic and warrior-like physique, making her stand out even among seasoned fighters.

She typically wears practical battle attire suited for a swordswoman, often consisting of durable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Around her waist, she carries multiple swords, positioning them on both her left and right sides, ready to be drawn at a moment’s notice.

At the end of the Decisive Battle Chapter, following her intense battle against Hitogami’s forces, streaks of white appeared in her red hair due to extreme mana strain, a lasting mark of her physical and magical endurance.

At the beginning of the series, Eris Boreas Greyrat is depicted as arrogant, impulsive, and fiercely independent. She is quick to anger and prone to violent outbursts, a trait she likely inherited from her grandfather, Sauros Boreas Greyrat. Her initial interactions with Rudeus are filled with hostility and condescension, as she sees herself as superior due to her noble upbringing.

However, as she spends more time with Rudeus, Eris undergoes significant character growth. She retains her strong-willed and aggressive personality, but she becomes deeply loyal and protective of those she cares about, particularly Rudeus. If she perceives anyone as a threat to him, she does not hesitate to resort to violence to defend him. Despite her tough exterior, Eris possesses a deep sense of insecurity, believing that she is not good enough to stand beside Rudeus as an equal. This inferiority complex ultimately drives her to leave him and train in the Holy Land of Swords, determined to become stronger.

During her time at the Holy Land of Swords, Eris adopts a single-minded focus on training, becoming reserved and indifferent to anything unrelated to swordsmanship. She remains mostly silent and uninterested in socializing, except when the topic involves Rudeus. Over time, she gradually opens up to fellow swordswomen such as Nina Falion and Isolte Cruel, developing a newfound sense of camaraderie.

Despite her intense personality, Eris also has a childlike sense of wonder. She gets easily excited when encountering new things, such as the Migurd Village’s turtle-shell-roofed houses in the Demon Continent. When visiting Chaos Breaker, she is amazed by the aerial view of the village, enthusiastically expressing her awe, which earns her the affection of Sylvaril, who enjoys her carefree nature.

Once infamous for constantly exuding bloodlust, Eris eventually learns to control it after years of discipline. She earns the title of “Mad Dog” or “Mad Sword King”, a reference to her ferocious fighting style and aggressive temperament. Despite her brashness, she is ultimately a free spirit, untamed and unapologetically herself.

Eris is also known for having a high libido, to the point where she is more dominant than Rudeus in bed. However, as she matures, her aggressive advances become more tempered, reflecting her overall character development.

Rudeus Greyrat – Initially her tutor, Rudeus becomes one of the most important people in Eris’s life. Over time, she falls deeply in love with him, though their relationship is filled with challenges and misunderstandings.

Ruijerd Superdia – Eris deeply respects Ruijerd as her mentor, viewing him as a warrior role model and father figure. His guidance helps shape her combat philosophy.

Sword God Gal Farion – Eris’s strict and demanding master, who trains her in the highest forms of swordsmanship. His brutal training pushes her to surpass her limits.

Ghislaine Dedoldia – Eris’s sword instructor during childhood, who instilled in her a love for combat. Their bond remains strong throughout the series.

She attained the prestigious rank of Sword King, a title given to those who have mastered the Sword God Style at an exceptional level. Additionally, she earned the rank of North Saint in the North God Style, further broadening her combat skills and versatility. Though primarily a swordswoman, she is also capable of using elementary-level Fire Magic, adding another layer to her battle prowess.

Eris has proven her strength in multiple battles against formidable opponents. Alongside Ruijerd Superdia, she successfully overpowered Gal Farion, the current Sword God. In another major battle, she played a crucial role in defeating North Emperor Auber Corvette, fighting alongside Rudeus Greyrat and Ghislaine Dedoldia. She also managed to defeat North King Twin Swords Knuckle Guard, demonstrating her growing expertise in the North God Style. Her relentless training and battle-hardened experience led her to become an A-ranked adventurer, one of the highest ranks achievable for mercenaries and fighters.
